Costumes in your Closet!

It is almost Halloween!! I never, ever know what to be for Halloween. There are so many options for dressing up that I have a hard time picking one. I also usually run out of time to go out and pieces I will need for the costume. Especially, this year with a very rigorous grad school schedule. I was looking at what I had in my closet, and realized there is a lot of Halloween potential. So let's see what I came up with today! 🎃 Rory Gilmore (this one ended up being my favorite!) What works for me.

Studying is such an individualized habit. What works for some people, does not work for others. As an undergrad, I would often feel lost in the studying game, and looked to other's for inspiration. I would trial and error new methods until I found something that clicked for me.  That being said, this is what is working for me. I like to incorporate all types of media for learning whether that be reading, drawing, watching or listening. I try to evolve my study techniques, so this is a snap shot in time because it will change. My methods may not be the best fit for how you learn, but if you feel like you are stuck in your study game, here is my process!! Step One: Preview the lecture the night/morning before. //  My slides are posted before lecture. Most professors post the day before their lecture! (some post an hour before...) But, take a look at the slides, so you are not blind sided during lecture. Also, I take some time to organize my notes, and use the...

Sweater Blazer Weather

#SweaterBlazerWeather Pictures taken in Central Park 🍁 It is finally time for sweater weather, and I am loving it! I really do not like the cold or being cold, but sweater weather means I get to cozy up to comfy, warm sweaters. In September, I bought the Sweater Blazer from J. Crew Factory ( currently on sale!! ). I have worn it a couple of times, and LOVE it!! I wore it the other day when we spent some time in New York. The high was 60 degrees that day, but there was a slight chill in the air. The sweater blazer kept me perfectly warm when it felt cooler, and I did not get too hot when the sun was shining on me.  I love how this is a made to look like a blazer because it really adds something to a look without having to get shoulder pads involved. It is so soft and comfortable, and has a little stretch that lets you move and do things while wearing it.  I paired it with this skirt and striped turtle neck, also from J. Crew Factory, and these booties I ...

What I'm Loving

Happy Sunday!! The past week was crazy for me, as it was exam week. But, I survived Exam Week 1 of grad school!! Yay!! Yesterday, I went shopping, which felt like the ultimate stress relief after a week consisting of sitting and studying for hours on end. I got some great things, and will share soon 😊 Today, I decided to share what I'm loving. Pineapple Lamp // I bought this on a whim when I was moving in to my new apartment and decorating my room. It is so fun without being "cheesy" pineapple decor. I love how it adds a pop of metallic to my white shelf too. Esme Dress // I know...I did an entire post about this dress (and 2 Instagram posts 😂), but I am seriously in love with this dress. It just feels so effortless and chic. The Gal Meets Glam collection is a must see if you haven't yet because the creator (Julia) did an ahhhmazing job at creating each and every piece in the collection! J. Crew Sweater  //  I bought this sweater yesterd...

ESME Dress

This past weekend, I got to go home to MN for a wedding! It was such a beautiful wedding 💕 It was located in a gorgeously refurbished farm/barn turned event center. The grounds of the entire venue were the perfect setting for this October wedding.  I picked out the Gal Meets Glam Esme Dress to wear (the dress is also on mark down, so even if you don't have a place to wear it, buy it!!). I love the beautiful red chinoiserie like pattern of the dress. It really fit into the setting of the wedding. The dress was fall perfect and color perfect for the event. It was also very fun to dance in with the twirly skirt!! I love this dress. The fit is impeccable, the fabric and color are beautiful, and it has pockets!! For sizing, I usually wear a 4 in Gal Meets Glam, but because the fabric of this dress is a stiffer cotton, I sized up to a 6, and it fit perfectly. I do recommend sizing up in this dress if you are on the fence, or between sizes.  So, congrats to...

Tweed Transition

So, the glimpse of fall weather we had a couple of weeks ago, was just a whisper of fall. Since then, the weather out here has been maintaining 70s-80s. I am not complaining about the extension of warm weather, but I have been so outfit confused!! It is October, so you want to dress like fall, but it is 80 degrees, so you have to dress more like summer... Yesterday, was Wednesday, October 3, also known as Mean Girls Day!! So I had had to wear pink.  I picked out this pink tweed Kate Spade skirt, and paired it with a blue and white fine striped shirt from Talbots . Both pieces are old, but I have seen this Kate Spade skirt pop up in the sale section of the website, in Surprise Sales, and seen it in an outlet store. It runs TTS, and the pale pink is good in any season!  The shirt is something I got in the spring/summer from Talbots. It is adorable with the button details down the back, and the bows at the small bell cuff of the sleeve. I think Talbots runs...
