How to Prep for a Successful Interview

I am currently in the process of applying to medical school, and that means you could get invited for an interview. I wanted to share how I have been prepping because it can be a daunting task!   Because I am prepping for medical school interviews, I will be using that as my examples/guidance for this post, but I believe these steps are completely applicable to any kind of interview you will have such as  jobs, graduate schools, scholarships, etc! So anywhere I have school or student written, you can easily replace it with company or employee. Shirt (c/o) | Jeans | Desk It is hard to know where to start when prepping for an interview. I think it is best to start with the type of interview you will have. For instance, a medical school interview can be one of many types including a traditional style interview, a multiple mini interview, a group activity interview, really anything a school wants to do to assess their candidates. After you know the type of interview, it is much easier

Pretty in Pink

February is just around the corner (already!), and that means its almost Galentine's and Valentine's day! It is honestly not my favorite holiday, but I cannot resist the colors of it: all things red and pink! I went and rounded up my pink picks to wear. I really love the nap/sleeper dress trend, and feel like these will be the lounge wear version of the usual going out V-Day dress. They are pretty easy to dress up, but you still feel comfy. Such an amazing concept, hah.  For my picks, I went with pieces that were more neutral pinks on the pink scale. I think that you can definitely wear all of these over and over without feeling too Valentine's Day in them. They could also be some good Galentine's gifts! Who doesn't want matching PJ's to match with their best gals over a Zoom get together?! 😊   STRIPED PJ'S | NAP DRESS  + $20 OFF  | CARDIGAN | PINK BOW GINGHAM SLEEP DRESS | NECKLACE | HEART PJ'S | PINK JOGGERS WHITE BOW | PINK SWEATER | BOW MULES

Shopping My Closet vol. 2

Winter really makes me feel blah about style and clothes. I recently wrote this blog post and shared an Instagram about classic wardrobe pieces I have had for a long time, and always reach for. I received such a great response that I decided to turn it into a blog series where I shop my own closet to create a look! Read the first one here . Trench Coat | Scarf | Jeans | Flats (c/o, use code SARAHFLINT-BALIBBYM for $50 off!) For this outfit, I pulled out my favorite neutral color combination of camel and black. I have definitely worn something very similar or identical in the past, and I think that is the mark of timeless pieces! Let's start with the trench coat - I love this classic tan trench. It is the perfect silhouette for a trench in my opinion, and I have gotten a lot of use out of it. This coat is probably better for transitional weather than dead of winter weather, hah.  Because it is the dead of winter here in Minnesota, I added my favorite cold weather accessories

Hi, Again!

Happy Tuesday, friends! Sorry for the lack of blog posts last week-I felt pretty drained after my virtual interview, but have recharged my brain! I thought I would do a re-introduce/introduce myself post. I am not sure if I have ever done a blog post like this, or the last time I did one. It has been so rewarding to see my little corner of the internet community grow, so I am sure there are some new faces around here! That is something else I am very grateful for! I am sharing some things about me here, but will also have some different facts on my Instagram @libbylovespearls later today, so check that out too! I would love to get to know you guys better- leave me a comment and tell me something about yourself 😊. 1. I have had my blog for a little over 2 years now. I really wished I would have started it sooner, but I think every says that, ahah. I started it right before I started my Master's degree because I thought it would be a good creative outlet for my brain during a ver

Winter Classic

Yesterday on my Instagram feed, I shared an outfit from two years ago. I still own every piece of that outfit, and would still wear it today, and felt that was the definition of classic style. I am always at a crossroads of winter fashion between I don't know what to wear and I don't want to wear what is in my closet! I definitely feel somewhat uninspired during this season, but I usually feel like I want to shop but nothing appeals to me! I have done this in the past, but "shopping" your own closet at times like these can be a lot of fun. That is what I did to put together this outfit. Yes, I think I have worn a version of it before, but to me that means that I am still drawn to these pieces, like my other classic pieces from my IG post! It is fun to see what is in your closet and how you can wear it differently, or mix and match pieces in new ways.  Similar Skirt  |  Turtleneck  |  Similar Sweater  |  Necklace  c/o |  Similar Bag  |  Loafers I really like having a

Happy 2021 + Monday Morning Routine

Happy first Monday of 2021! I have been going back and forth on whether or not I want to set intentions for myself for the new year. I looked back on my 2020 Intentions , and had a good laugh because that is all you can do. I am not being hard on myself for not fully rounding out all of my intentions of 2020 because that would be wasted energy. I think it is ok to not have complete follow through on your intentions/goals. I am finding it more important to just be able to roll with the punches (yes, it is cheesy!).  I hope you enjoyed seeing the 2020 favorites, and if you have not read it yet, you can do so HERE! {There's some good discount codes/links in that post, so be sure to check it out!} I always have a lot of fun writing that post every year, and keep a running list of things that I narrow down in December. I made sure to start off the first Monday of the year on the right foot with things that make me feel balanced like exercise, a yummy/pretty good for me brekkie, a we
