Shift Dress in Sea Bright

Dress   |   Similar hat   |   Jacks   |   Similar bag Isn't it a great thing that seersucker materials are generally already striped?! I think yes!! Because look at this beautiful shift dress from Duffield Lane ; it is actually the epitome of a East Coast summer dress. It is light weight, blue and white, striped, AND seersucker. Can it get any better than this? I took this perfect for summer dress down to a coastal NJ town to explore. I had been to Sea Bright many times before, but it was just to have drinks or dinner at Tommy's Tavern, or just driving the scenic way to a more southern beach. But walking around this cute, little coastal town was a blast, even though it was blazing hot out, haha! While exploring, I walked up and down the more residential streets right off the main road to look at the beach homes, and wow. There are some beautiful homes in this area. It is great because you could  have a house on the beach side, or the bay side, so no matte

A little blue dress

Dress  |   Similar bag  (on sale!!)  |   Similar flats I think the title of this post should really be: the dress I wore the other day that got so many compliments, and I need to tell you about. But, this would be a bit long winded for a title, ahah! I am serious though, like, this dress!! The amount of sweet, kind words about this dress should really be given to Gal Meets Glam because wow!!! I am wearing the Addison dress in this beautiful light blue that is almost like a lighter, muted Tiffany blue color. It is gorgeous! It is also a nice light cotton material, perfect for the HOT weather we have been having on the East Coast. (also, a type of dress that I talked about in my most recent What I'm Loving ).  It is a true wrap dress, and the fabric has the perfect amount of stretch. I wear my true size in the dress/Gal Meets Glam, but because it is a wrap dress, you could size down if you wanted to. I love a wrap dress because you can fit it to the size

the dress of the summer

This dress!! I just can't get over how beautiful it is! And you may have guessed it already, but it is another Gal Meets Glam dress. I found it for under $50 at a Nordstrom Rack. What a score! It is the Courtney dress , and I bought back in March, but you are in luck because it was brought back this spring! (The dress also comes in pink now. The blue color way is also available for pre-order again, so snatch it up while you can!!) I feel like this has been one of those perfect for summer dresses. It is light weight and striped, and has a beautiful silhouette. The other day, we took a day trip to Cape May, and this vineyard felt like the perfect backdrop for the dress. We also were at the beach, and again, this dress looked great with the beach (lol)! It was HOT while down there, but this dress kept me nice a cool. I kept the styling simple with my go-to pair of Jacks , and some pearls 😊. I was definitely feeling a hair moment that day. But, can you see

National Ice Cream Day!!

Happy National Ice Cream Day!!! Did you know that every year on the third Sunday of July, it is this random holiday? I didn't know it until last year, so now I make it a point to celebrate one of my favorite summer sweet treats. I thought I'd celebrate with pictures of me eating ice cream 🍦 This day is also well timed with some scorching hot temps here. So, please please stay cool, drinks lots of water, and most importantly, celebrate this frozen treat day because you are guaranteed to feel cool while ice creaming! (Also, I feel like I have been talking about how hot it has been in all of my recent posts...but it has been hot hot hot, and this weekend is even HOTTER!) As always, #dontforgetyourpearls   (and your ice cream!)

A week of natural deodorant

Shop a similar dress Hello! A few weeks ago, I started using a natural deodorant. At first, I was somewhat skeptical of this because it seemed like a big trendy fad that would die out. However, (this maybe be a TMI, but a funny one?) I have had chronically itchy arm pits (😂). I am not sure when it started, but the years of itchiness are very memorable, ahah. It had recently been suggested to me (by a healthcare provider) that I should try a natural deodorant. She didn't recommend any brand over another, but said it could be worth trying. I am still working on my own research on the risks/benefits/harms, etc. of all deodorants, so I have no conclusions on what the literature says on "natural" vs. "un-natural" deodorants, but I wanted to share my experience so far of using a natural one. I knew some brands that had a natural deodorant, and read things about all of them. When I was at Whole Foods the other week, I thought maybe they would have something

Schmack Attack

Growing up in Minnesota, I have always had a love for NYC. We took several trips there while growing up, and one trip I discovered something brilliant. Like beyond amazing: Schmackary's Cookies . I used to have these shipped to Minnesota 😋. They are still some of my favorite cookies, and treats EVER! The cookie flavors are so so creative , but of course they have the traditional ones like chocolate chip. They even have a large selection of gluten free cookies and sweets for me!! I am so incredibly happy that I live a literal hop, skip and a jump away from my favorite treats. The other day I popped in there for some cookies to-go after I saw a show. The cookies were put in these adorable blue and white striped Schmackary's boxes, and I almost felt inspired by the colors and stripes. I mean blue and white stripes, AND delicious cookies? Dream combo right there! As soon as I opened this box, I heard the pitter-patter of paws come into the room, aha! My curren

A day in St. Augustine

I have a confession to make...these photos are from March 😂. We took them on our spring break trip to Florida, but my dad wanted to use his new camera, and he never got around to uploading them until I was home last month!   When we went to FL during my March spring break, we spent a couple days at Disney, then headed to the Atlantic Coast. One of the days, we took a little trip up to St. Augustine, Florida. If you have never been, it is a beautiful old town. Actually, I think it is one of the oldest towns in the US. All of the architecture is a charming, Spanish colonial style, and you really feel brought back in time.  I remember that the entire trip was a little on the chilly side, like 60+ degrees, minimal sun, and some rain...not the beach vacation I was hoping for, aha. But, we made the most of exploring the historic town. We had been there before, so it was more like revisiting our favorite spots! Because it was pretty chilly, I opted for white jeans, an

What I'm Loving

It has been a few months since my last What I'm Loving! Seems so long ago! Had to share these amazing doughnuts! They're GF too!! Bon Appétit on Youtube  // I try not to watch too TV/Netflix etc., but when I do watch something there is a high possibility that it is a cooking show. I have followed Bon Appetit on Youtube for a while now, and love every single video they upload. I think my favorite series is "Gourmet Makes." They are all videos of one chef recreating gourmet versions of classic junk/packaged food. If only I could taste her finished products. That would be the dream! (One time, I passed Chef Claire on the street in NYC, but was too excited/shy/nervous to say hi, will you bake for me 😂. So, Hi Claire, if you ever see this!) Light, flowy summer dresses  //  Lately, it has been so incredibly hot and humid here on the East Coast. This weather has had me wearing any dress in my closet that is light, and breezy. Most of the dresses on repeat have a
