Beach Vacation Packing List

A real beach vacation sounds amazing. I am imagining renting a house with a pool on the beach and going from pool to beach all day, then freshening up for fun dinners at night. There is no better feeling than the post sun/pool/beach day shower! My ideal beach vacay suitcase is filled with a lot of swimsuits, dresses and SPF. I also have been eyeing this lace Nap Dress , and think that because it is un-lined that it could make a cute beach cover up during the day, and then add a slip and you have a gorgeous dinner dress! I also LOVE this little after swim cover up too. A great tote that can double as beach and dinner should also be in the beach suitcase- I love this one from POOLSIDE . Here is what I would bring on a beach vacation this summer! Lace Nap Dress | Swim Top + Bottom | Sun Hat | White Top Lace Up Sandals * | White Swimsuit | Shorts   Striped Shirt | Swim Top + Bottom | Button-up | Straw Tote Linen Pants | Floral Mini Dress | Espadrilles | Blue + White D...

What I Packed for Charleston

I am just back from my trip to Charleston, SC. It was an amazing trip, and I need to go back to explore all that I missed. I love seeing what others pack for trips to various destinations, and thought it could be helpful to share what I packed for my trip to Charleston. Since my family has a house in Florida, I am no stranger to the heat and humidity of the South this time of year. This is what I always keep in mind when packing for a late spring/early summer trip to this part of the country. I gravitate towards flowy dresses, lighter colors, and throw in sweaters for icy air conditioning and cooler nights.  For this trip, I wanted to include pieces that I can dress down during the day, and dress up a little more for night time since we love to do fun, nice vacay dinners. So I mostly packed dresses and skirts. I did wear linen pants for travel, so I also had those in case I was feeling like pants (I wasn't!). I also brought a swim suit + cover up for the rooftop pool/terrace...

What I Would Pack for a Winter Vacation

I am still home in Minnesota on break, and it is quite chilly here already. I was going to take a short trip somewhere warm during winter break, but we decided it would be best to postpone it as there is a surge in the pandemic. As the high temperature this weekend is -4 (yes below zero degrees plus a windchill..), I am trying to think warm thoughts. So here are my warm thoughts in the form of my packing wishlist/what I would pack for a winter holiday. Stay warm, friends! White Embroidered Dress Pearl Straw Bag - dressed up, fancy vacation dinners are my favorite part about being on holiday. This sweet pearl embellished straw bag is the perfect accompaniment to your going out look. Blue and White Long Dress - this dress is absolutely stunning, and I hear nothing but good things about the brand. Scalloped Straw Hat Sunscreen High Waisted Bikini- Top + Bottoms White One Piece Swimsuit Lace Up Sandals - use code SARAHFLINT-BALIBBYM for $50 off! I wear these sandals on repeat during the w...

What I Packed for Rhode Island

I am SO excited to be back on the East Coast for a bit. Today, we are driving to Rhode Island to spend the long weekend and celebrate my cousin's 30th birthday (thirty, flirting and thriving, right?!). I have only been to Rhode Island on one other occasion, and that was a marching band trip where we marched in the oldest Fourth of July celebration in the country. Thinking back on that, it was a very surreal experience that I am grateful for, and I am even more excited to get to go back to that state and explore as an adult. As soon as I knew we would be going to Rhode Island, I thought about the outfits for the trip. It invoked a sense of the classic East Coast prep style that I already love so much, and so I took that as my packing inspiration! The Kiel James Patrick store/brand is based out of Newport, RI, so I will definitely be visiting and I had to leave room in my suitcase for some new KJP pieces. I haven't had to pack for travel in awhile, so I decided to take a new ap...

Beach Vacation Packing List

I cannot remember the last time I went on a true summer vacation to the beach. When I lived on the East Coast, it was really easy to take a day trip or weekend to the beach, but nothing feels the same as a real week long summer vacation! Especially this summer, I am itching to go on one and put that into inspiration for a beach vacay packing list! Most these pieces, or some variation of them, would be in my beach bound suit case. It is clear I am theme of bows, gingham and blue and white here, haha.  BEACH VACATION PACKING LIST: Swim Top + Bottoms | Sunscreen | Dress | Straw Bag Smocked Top | Espadrilles White Skirt | Fleece | Pajamas Sandals (use SARAHFLINT-BALIBBYM for $50 off!) | Sun Hat -I always think a sweater is essential wherever you go in the summer because it can get chilly at night, and there's is nothing less fun than being cold. I love the DS Fleeces because they also look chic, and are an easy option to tie around your shoulders in case you need it....

Nautical Stripes

Stripes are such a timeless pattern. I love that when I buy a striped piece I know that it will be in my closet for quite some time. Stripes also work on almost any piece of clothing, so it is fun to have a variety of one pattern in your closet.  When I saw this long, tiered striped skirt , I was instantly drawn to it- I actually first saw it in an IG ad because apparently the app knows me well, haha! The type of stripe is lovely, and they are the perfect lighter blue! It is a great find and great quality for under $100. It does seem to run big- I am wearing a small, and it is falling off my waist a little, so take the into consideration. I wanted to keep this look simple, but slightly elevated casual. I paired it with this sleeveless, white button-up - another great closet staple. Here, I wore this with flat sandals , but you could easily dress this up with some block heels (use code SARAHFLINT-BALIBBYM for $50 off!) or espadrilles . Of course, I wore my Lisi Lerch sta...

Bringing Joy- Sunset in Lilly

Happy Friday! I definitely thought yesterday was Wednesday until 5pm when I looked at my planner and realized that it was intact Thursday...I guess I just have no clue what day we are on anymore, haha. So, I was planning on doing a full week of "resort posts" on the blog. Instead of doing that, I am just going to share the sunny, happy outfits that I shot while I was on vacation in Florida in mid January. I want to keep it light and positive on here [but if you would be interested in a pre-med with a Master's degree's opinion on the whole pandemic, I would be more than willing to write that for you!] I hope you enjoyed my unique things to do post from the other day!  If only my pedicure still looked like that 😬. Lilly dress (sold out) |   Similar Jacks  |   Sunglasses This is probably one of my favorite Lilly dresses ever. I of course love the infamous shift dress, but this one is so different, and my favorite silhouette t...

What I'm packing for Florida

I am on my way to Florida right now! We go south every winter. It used to be over the holidays, but last year we went after New Year's, and like how it was less crazy/busy, so we are doing the same thing this year! We have been going to Florida for the Holidays for a very long time; it has to be over 10 years. This is my favorite holiday tradition my family has. I almost start to crave sunshine at this time of year because I know the trip is coming. Here is (mostly) what I am bringing with this year. I didn't even realize, but I started to pack with a theme: blue and white (with accents of pink!). Of course! I find that sticking to a color scheme makes mixing and matching easier, and can help you pack lighter (help being the key word, lol). Happy new year, and as always, #dontforgetyourpearls
