Exam Outfits

I asked, you answered, so here we are! During last finals week, I did a poll on Instagram, and asked what you guys wanted to see in terms of exam week in grad school. Shockingly, it was 50/50: half for exam outfits, and half for exam week routine. So, I am going to start with outfits. Be prepared for some mirror selfies, but I wanted to keep it real for a post about exam week ahah. I generally do not stray far off from what I normally wear. I always feel better, and more productive if I am NOT in comfy clothes like leggings or sweats. I still "dress comfy" for me, but still like to wear dresses and skirts 😊 So, I pulled some pictures from my Instagram stories archive (@libbylovespearls) to look at exam outfits. I started to laugh as I looked at the outfits, because I kind of have an exam day outfit theme! ahah! I apparently really like this J. Crew Factory blazer, and skirt for exam outfits! I also sweaters, and layering a nice collared shirt underneath

The Paige Outfit

Gal Meets Glam in the city: I had had my eye on this set since it came out (now on sale!!). I almost bought it on several occasions, but then I got it as a gift for Christmas (thanks, Santa)!! It is even better in person than the pictures online. The colors of the tweed, and the bow! Who doesn't love a bow? I have had some questions about fit, and I think this fits true to size. I now have several things from Gal Meets Glam, and know that I wear a size 4, unless the fabric is more cotton-y, and has less stretchy like this dress . I am also pretty tall, and was worried that the cropped jacket would be too short, but it actually fits perfectly, and hits the skirt right at the waist line! I styled it with the camel turtleneck (I have been wearing this a lot lately!), tights, boots, and of course pearls. I have also had questions about the boots. They are Cole Haan Simona Tall Boot. They are so comfy, and are not too stiff, but keep their shape. I have them in black, t

The Rory Gilmore Book List

As I have grown up, I have enjoyed reading more and more. I think I have come to love it because for it is fun, and it exercises your brain. (nerd alert) I felt my love for reading escalate during my last semester of undergrad. I was only taking 2 classes, had independent research, and had my work research. Needless to say, I actually had a lot of free time on my hands 😂. Some of my favorites!! Wild  |   Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire  |   Complications  |   The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down During that last semester, I shared a library card with my roommate (Hi Tay!!!), and found myself using it most that last semester than I did for 2 years prior. After graduation, however, I started my job as a full time scribe. I absolutely loved being a scribe (will write a post about scribing in the future!), but I did feel somewhat mentally exhausted after my 10+ hour work days, and sometimes seeing close to 30 patients. So I did not read as much as I wanted to for abo

Palm Beach Prep

I am finally getting around to sharing the rest of these pictures I took while exploring Palm Beach. I love this place so much, and I really really want to go back, and stay at The Colony Hotel (so, if The Colony is reading this....😊). I wore one of my favorite Gal Meets Glam dresses: the Esme dress. I loved how the colors of the dress contrasted  and  blended in with The Colony. I paired it with my new Jacks, and the navy Sam bag. I kept it a bit more casual because we would be walking around, although I did have some dressier shoes in the car; be prepared for everything, right?! I also took these photos with the Nikon I got for Christmas. They turned out beautifully, and I have been loving playing with my new camera!! Dress  (this Gal Meets Glam dress is pretty much sold out, but found it in a few sizes on Nordstrom Rack!)  |   Similar Handbag  |   Jacks   As always, #dontforgetyourpearls

Poshmark Skirt

Before Christmas, I ordered a skirt on Poshmark . It is a J. Crew skirt from a few years back, but I thought it was so cute when I saw it. I think I originally saw it in a YouTube video or on Pinterest haha! When I clicked the link, and saw that it was old and out of stock, my thought was must find this skirt! I started stocking many consignment websites for it. And then, it magically popped up on Poshmark, and I pretty much instantly ordered it!! Look at the cute puppy in a sweater!! I paired the skirt with a simple camel turtleneck, tights, and brown riding boots. I love when easy, simple outfits look so put together. I also love that Christmas was still going strong in Bryant Park. It made me so incredibly happy because this girl LOVES Christmas!! [And today, it snowed overnight!! I am so watching White Christmas!!] If you too are in love with this skirt, it the the J. Crew Mini Skirt in Oxford Check. There is a matching pea-coat, but those are selling fas

Sweater on the Beach

I had such a fun night yesterday. We were spontaneous, and went to see Anastasia on Broadway (again!)!! I am also longing for that warm sun, and beach because it is insanely windy here in NJ... Call me crazy, but I always love a good sweater. Even if I am in Florida during summer when it is close to 100 degrees, I have a sweater with me! While we were on vacation in Satellite Beach, Florida over New Year's, I found this Starbucks on the beach!! We went one morning for our usual coffee, and I think I got some interesting stares for my sweater and shorts combo lol, but I loved it, so that is all what counts. Someone on Instagram pointed out my pinky flip in the first picture 😂 I said I just try to always keep it classy ahah.  Nothing like an iced coffee, Jacks, and sand! Sweater  |   Shorts  (not many sizes left, but these ones are are cute , and I have them!)  |   Sandals As always, #dontforgetyourpearls

A (short) Day in Palm Beach

If you follow me on Instagram (libbylovespearls) you saw that we spent a hot second in Palm Beach while we were in Florida. It was so so incredible, and I am definitely going back for an entire vacation. Before we went on our little road trip down the coast of Florida, I searched for some recommendations for Palm Beach, and found this great post from Lemon Stripes (thanks, Julia !!!). We drove down Highway A1A from were we stayed around Satellite Beach, FL. This route was gorgeous!!! It is a highway next to the coast line, so you get to see beach, ocean, and the most insane beach houses! Like when can I move in? The drive took a while, but the views were worth it. When we got down to the Palm Beach area, we were starving, so decided on a place to eat, E.R. Bradleys Saloon. They are dog friendly, and we had the pooch, so it was perfect. This place was so cute, and delicious. It is on the West Palm Beach side, over looking the water between mainland, and Palm Beach Island. Th

Try on at Lilly Pulitzer

I am currently writing this beach side, so it feels fitting that I am sharing what I tried on at the new Lilly Pulitzer on Worth Ave, Palm Beach. I can hear the surf, the sun is shining on me, so lets go!! We took a little road trip down to the Palm Beach area the other day, and I HAD to go into the new Lilly Store. It was incredibly. So beautifully decorated, and I am in love with the custom dress station, and will be back to design myself a dress one day!! I tried on some cute pieces at Lilly, the fitting room is so gorgeous that I can't not share these pictures (my mom took them on her iPhone!).  ALSO! Before I went to Lilly, I read on Kelly's blog when the January sale is, and omg it is next week!! Crazy!!! Here is what I tried on! (Disclaimer lol: these are raw pics from our iPhones. I am feeling a bit lazy here next to the beach 😂) Mila shift dress - wearing a 6 (linked same dress, different print) Shift Dress - wearing size 4 or 6, can't remember aha

A Very Lilly New Year

Happy 2019!!! Happy New Year everyone!! I rang in the new year beach side, and what says NYE in Florida more than a Lilly Pulitzer dress?! I got the one I am wearing during the big Lilly sale in September. It is so fun, and has bright pink lobsters all over it!  I also love the neck like of this dress because it covers my sun burn ahah!! We were looking for a place to take some NYE pictures last night, and found this gorgeous condo complex that had a '60's, mod feel to it, and felt so vintage Lilly!!  I could not find this exact dress, but I have linked some fun Lilly dresses for you for some festiveness during 2019!
