  I am headed into the city for a few festive days to kick off the holidays! New York during the holidays is one of my favorite times of year. For this trip, I tried to think about what would be chic, cozy and warm and would transition well from day to night. I will wear my over the knee boots during the day and can easily switch them out for my black platforms for our shows and dinners.   This gift guide is always one of my favorites to put together every year. I love shopping and supporting small businesses, and the holidays are the perfect time of year to support your favorite small brands! Some of my favorite small businesses have grown so much over the years that they might not be small but smallish now! (I have still included them here:) ) I also seem to forget a few brands when I first write this post, so I will keep adding as I think of more. Its is almost tartan season! My favorite Hill House drop of the year is usually their tartan drop. Summer will always be my favorite season but there is something about a fun plaid dress that just gets me! Anyway, I meant to have this go up before the drop last week but did not get to it then but I am getting to it now! I am kind of sad they did not bring back the navy tartan this year because that is my absolute favorite and I wanted to replace my original navy tartan Ellie with one of the updated Ellies so instead I got the blackwatch Ellie . I do love blackwatch and think it is a great plaid to wear all winter, not just over the holidays.   Hello all! I have not had a new blog post up in a while. Finals really took all of me, but now that I am done with the semester, I can finally finish and publish a few drafts that have been sitting here! Better late than never for today's post: my small business gift guide. I've structure this more as a round up of some favorite small businesses because there was so many I wanted to highlight this year!   Since I first showed this dress , I have been waiting for it to be included in a sale (I think everyone is, aha). I feel like this is the week that it will be on sale! If you read my Tartan round-up post yesterday, you know that I look forward to new plaid styles every season. When this dress dropped , I could not resist it. Smocking has been so in, and I feel like it is sticking around for awhile, that I was so excited to see this black watch smocked dress with a puffed sleeve! Its all my favorite more grandmillennial style elements wrapped up in one sweet *plaid* dress. I do not say this often, but this dress is a need . It is a flannel material, so it is perfectly soft and comfortable. I think it is the perfect mix of feeling dressed up for a holiday, but staying comfy for a day full of treats and celebrating.   If you are new around here since last holiday season, hi I'm Libby and I love plaid just as much as I love blue and white. Tartan/plaid season is relatively short, and I love to pack in as much plaid as possible. I always look forward to seeing what new styles of plaid pieces are released each season. It is kind of fun to see classic patterns evolve to new silhouettes every year. I scoured all of my favorite places to pick the best tartan pieces this year!   I am back with another gift guide, and this might be my favorite one I have ever made. I love the aesthetic it gives. You definitely do not have to gift these picks to just Grandmillennials, I think anyone would love them. Especially, if that person like to indulge a bit or feel elegant.   It is Christmas week! It kind of feels like a treat that the holiday is on a Friday, and you can actually make a long weekend out of it. That is our plan! Another part of our plan is deciding last minute that we want to do a holiday card. One of my favorite types of Christmas cookies is spritz cookies- it is the one you use with the cookie press to make really cute shapes. I searched Pinterest for a gluten free spritz recipe, and found this super simple one from Thriving Gluten Free . I always try to find the gluten free recipes that do not have all sorts of crazy additive ingredients because it can be hard to find those, and they can be spendy. This one is literally just gf flour, sugar, butter and egg! And my goodness are they delicious, and smelled amazing while they baked. We baked some cookies, listened to holiday tunes, and out of nowhere, it started to snow!!   It is already half way through December, and the holidays are in full swing! I don't know about you guys, but I always seem to plan out gifts well, and then find myself last minute shopping, hah.   Happy Monday, friends! It is December, and that means you can catch me wearing plaid about every day. I wore this dress the other week, and have showed it on my Instagram, but it is still on sale, so I thought this outfit needed its own post!
