Recent Reads

I feel like I have read so many great books over the summer! I just started class, so I am not sure how much I will be able to read, but I hope to incorporate some recreational reading as I figure out my schedule and routine. I do love to read before bed so hopefully I can continue that! Any way, here are the books I have recently read. I feel like I am missing one but I cannot put my finger on it, hah. I need some more book recommendations, so please leave me a comment with a good one! 1. The Perfect Couple - This was my first read by Elin Hilderbrand, and It it is safe to say I want to read all of her books! Hilderbrand is such a great story teller, and I was so sucked into this murder mystery set on Nantucket. 2. Malibu Rising - If you loved The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo as much as I did, then you must read this one by the same author. It takes place over the course of 24 hours with flashbacks to the past, as it uncovers secrets of a Hollywood family. 3. The People We Me...

Summer Reading List

Is anyone else triggered when they hear the phrase summer reading list? I am, haha. But this one is not full of boring novels that you will quizzed on during the first day of school. This is my little list of fun summer reads for your vacation, beach time, pool time, back yard time, before bed you get it!  The first list is what is on my personal list for the summer. The second list is my recommendations for you guys to read this summer! I love some light reads for the warmer months or some soft thrill, if that makes sense haha. I want to caveat that all the books are linked from Amazon out of convenience for me (and probably you!), but I want to encourage you to pull up this post at your local bookstore because  that is the best way for the authors to become best sellers! ON MY LIST: 1. Malibu Rising 2. The People You Meet On Vacation 3. An Elin Hilderbrand book- I haven't picked which one because they all sound pretty good! Obviously, I will read more than these, but...

Dress | Flats (use code SARAHFLINT-BALIBBYM for $50 off!) I have felt like my reading speed has slowed down in the past couple of months. I am not sure why, but everything ebbs and flows in life, so we are going with it. I did want to share the few books I have finished, though! Picking out books can be very overwhelming when there are as many options out there. On the contrary, I think my slight reading rut is because there are so many options and I want to read them all but feel like there is not enough time for that, hah. So with that, here's my list, and I hope I can give you some book inspiration! What I Have Finished: - I know this is only 2 books! I think I also finished a Harry Potter book since I last chatted about reading. Would Like to Meet - This one was a gift from a friend, and isn't something I would normally pick up, but I LOVED it! Its a rom com about writing a rom com movie, and its so well done. I actually laughed out loud on multiple occasions while rea...

I Used to be a Picky Reader

The title of this post is true, and I was a picky reader. I would even say the phrase "I am a picky reader" when I was younger and in school. I couldn't even tell you what exactly I envisioned for the type of books I liked when I was picky- I read, but was VERY selective with my reads, haha. I have to laugh at it now, as I look back. In the past couple of years, however, I have really let my reading guards down, and am just reading really anything. Well, not quite anything because I do not like super scary books that I cannot read before bed, haha.  I feel like I have had a personal reading renaissance! I really just want to be reading, and will read whatever I can get my hands on. I have realized that I enjoy many genres from nonfictions like science, history and biographies, to fictions that grab me in and tell a great story that I can picture in my head as I read along. I had the realization that I am no longer a picky reader when I asked my best girlfriends for some b...

Books I Read in Quarantine

I am not sure the last time, if at all, I shared books that I had read/am reading. During grad school, I did not have much time for recreational reading, but post graduation quarantine life gave a lot of time for fun reading! I am sharing what I read in the past 4-ish months, and what I am currently reading. I hope I can stay on this reading grind as long as possible! After you peruse my reads, I would love to know what you have read, and what you recommend I read next. I have some ideas, but I love to know what others have loved. Books I Read: Crazy Rich Asians: Rich People Problems If you have not read this series, you must!! This is the last book of the trilogy, and the most wild, in my opinion. I often looked up from reading and said "WHAT!!!?!" out loud. I feel like it is a really good summer read because its fun, juicy, and a great escape. Little Fires Everywhere I liked reading this during quarantine because I could follow it up with watching the Hulu TV version of i...
