Shoes for Spring + Summer

I always get asked about spring and summer shoe options are are not espadrilles. You guys know that I absolutely love my espadrilles and ALWAYS wear them, but I think you are right and I need to mix it up a bit. I have compiled some great options and other favorite pairs to wear this spring and summer. Obviously, I included my favorite espadrilles but also included other options with and without heels so I hope there is something for everyone!   Happy March and welcome back to the blog! It has been awhile since the last post- school and getting covid again got in the way. But, I am on break this week so I am dusting off some drafts and writing some new posts! I have been loving these new arrivals from J. Crew. This gold button/Lady Jacket era style that has been in for this winter/spring season is one of my favorites. It is such a classic look that will always be in style and a great investment piece for your wardrobe. I am really eyeing the striped one but also the pink gingham one is adorable and I normally do not gravitate towards pink! I love all these great basics too- button-ups, sweaters and a great cut of white jeans. I am so excited for warmer weather ahead and fun spring outfits! Spring Dress Round Up

Similar Dress | Sweater | Similar bag | Ballet Flats Transitioning to spring weather is always my least favorite time of year. I never know exactly what to wear: its always freezing in the morning then sizzling by the afternoon! We have actually had a couple of weeks of weather in the 30s and 40s, so I have been mostly reaching for more winter pieces, which does not match the time of year. I think I am trying to manifest warm weather with my round-up of spring dresses today. I just want so desperately to wear a fun, flowy dress and not have to worry about grabbing a big coat or being cold. I would love to pack away my sweater tights and turtlenecks for good.  Dresses are my favorite piece to transition to warmer weather with, and I think we could still have some chilly days ahead so these are my quick tips to layer up your spring frock: a sweater/cardigan that can be easily worn around your shoulders but thrown on if you are chilled, a long dress with longer sleeves is ...

Spring J. Crew Finds

Hello friends! I cannot believe it has been so long since my last blog post. I finally have a clear break from exams this weekend, and it feels so could to write up some posts. I have been loving these new J. Crew Spring releases, and picked out my favorites! A lot of them are on a little bit of a sale this weekend, so I wanted to get this post out today. Can you tell I am attracted to certain styles 😂: give me all the smocking, flowy dresses and puff sleeves! I added a lot of white pieces because it feels so fresh for a new season. I have also been seeing a lot of this light sage green color for the season, and love that J. Crew released this gorgeous mini dress with some fun details on the bust. I am so ready for warm weather. We have had some teaser days in Indy in the 70s, so I feel like consistent warm weather is just around the corners (fingers crossed). I have been slowly switching out my more wintery pieces for my spring and summer pieces and it feels so good! SHOP MY PICKS: S...

Styling a White Button-up for Spring+Summer

Hello! On Friday, I did a fun Instagram collab with my friend Shelby (@shelbyclouthier). We both styled a white button-up shirt 6 different ways, and made a fun reel. You should definitely go watch both of our videos, they turned out so cute. Both of us (me and Shelby), love classic pieces to build a wardrobe around, the the button-up gets a lot of attention in my closet. I have many of them I wear on a regular basis. I figured that I would share those looks here even though the photos are screenshots from the reel. I really love the looks! There is just so many things you can do with a simple, white button-up shirt. I have done a similar post where I styled a button-up, but those looks were pretty fall/winter, so now we have some good spring/summer options. A Born on Fifth Dress

Nothing makes me happier than being able to wear a cute little sundress and not freeze. I was so happy to be in Florida a couple of week ago, and finally wear this dress ! It is the mini dress from the Born on Fifth x Antonio Melani collection for Dillards . I was instantly drawn to the stunning blue and white pattern! I will link more of this pieces from the collection below! This is not normally the length and silhouette I would go for, but something was drawing me to this dress the most. I ended up loving this silhouette more than I thought I would- the baby doll look is nice because it is nice and fitted up top, and then just flows down and feels very flattering. There's also the bow that makes this dress feel so fun and feminine.  I styled the dress with my go to spring/summer accessories: espadrilles and a wicker bag. I was nervous to wear espadrilles with it because of the shorter length, but it ended up looking fine and not visually shortening the dress (these can b...

Nautical Stripes

Stripes are such a timeless pattern. I love that when I buy a striped piece I know that it will be in my closet for quite some time. Stripes also work on almost any piece of clothing, so it is fun to have a variety of one pattern in your closet.  When I saw this long, tiered striped skirt , I was instantly drawn to it- I actually first saw it in an IG ad because apparently the app knows me well, haha! The type of stripe is lovely, and they are the perfect lighter blue! It is a great find and great quality for under $100. It does seem to run big- I am wearing a small, and it is falling off my waist a little, so take the into consideration. I wanted to keep this look simple, but slightly elevated casual. I paired it with this sleeveless, white button-up - another great closet staple. Here, I wore this with flat sandals , but you could easily dress this up with some block heels (use code SARAHFLINT-BALIBBYM for $50 off!) or espadrilles . Of course, I wore my Lisi Lerch sta...

Mother's Day

Mother's Day is coming up faster than I though it would! We are already a little less than 3 weeks out. I think that is still a good amount of time to place an order and get it delivered! I did see that some places have guaranteed Mother's Day delivery if you order by April 26, so keep that in mind!  For my theme for this gift guide, I went with things that would be things for self care, relaxing and pretty things for the home. Obviously, the color theme is blue and white, aha. My mom is also a lover of blue and white, so hopefully you can get some good ideas and inspiration! Pajamas | Earrings | Picture Frame | Dudley Stephens Fleece ( link for $25 off! ) Rose Bouquet | Card Holder | Cocktail Napkins Skincare Set | Margaux Flats (use code LIBBY10 for 10% off!) | Nap Dress Botanical Placemats   A few things from this list can be customized or monogrammed like the card holder and blue flats . I think doing that is a nice touch for a personal gift! I also adore ...

Gingham Style

I feel like it is pretty well known that I love a good gingham. I find it such a timeless pattern that comes back every season. Although a classic pattern, I love to see how it is used in new pieces and silhouettes of clothing each year! I searched some of my favorite sites to find some perfect gingham pieces this year! I am really eyeing that puff sleeved swimsuit top !! I wish this little gingham bag was still available because its my favorite!! Lisi Lerch Earrings

I know I have mentioned this before, but I do not have my ears pierced. It was always fine with me because I never felt like I needed to wear earrings. Until, I started to see all these adorable statement pieces that can really make an outfit. I searched for some nice clip-on options, and found a few that were cute, but not exactly what I wanted. Enter my discovery of the brand Lisi Lerch , and they have so many clip-on earring options !! I was graciously gifted a pair of earrings from the brand! I received the Natalie earrings in white with clip-on backing. They are some fun tiered statement earrings that I have already reached for a handful of times. I love the white because it goes with so many outfits! Not all clip backings are created equally, and I have tried a bunch of uncomfortable ones, and the Lisi Lerch backings are not one of these! They are so comfortable, and not pinching on the ears at all. The earrings are also super light weight, so you don't feel like your ea...

Spring Mini Dress

I am usually all about the midi and maxi length dresses, but sometimes I find a mini or short dress that needs a spot in my closet. I have had this Gal Meets Glam dress for a couple of years now, and she is the perfect example of this. I think it is fun to mix up the silhouettes of dresses you own, and I have definitely added some new styles of mini's and maxi's in the past several months.  I wish this dress was still available, so I could link it, but I have found some similar options that are just as good! This is the Gal Meets Glam Darla dress if you wish to do some internet thrifting, but I will warn that it is hard to come by these days! The details, of any dress, are really an important feature, but more so for me if I am going to invest in a dress that is not my usual style/silhouette. For this dress, it was really the pattern, color and bow tie detail. The fact that it is a shirtdress is really icing the cake. It is such a fun piece with a timeless element. For simil...

Shopping My Closet vol. 4

Welcome to spring-ish weather. It has been beautiful here in Minnesota, but I have feeling this is just like a fool's spring and we will have a few more cold and snowy days before real spring starts. But, I could not resist pulling out one of my favorite Liberty floral dresses for a new Shopping My Closet post! I bought this dress from J. Crew last spring as a quarantine stressed induced impulse purchase. I found myself wearing it all the time last spring, and was a great piece to just throw on and feel put together (and stop me from wearing work out clothes all day). I absolutely adore the Liberty London floral pattern on this dress. The dainty blue and white flowers with specks of some pinks are so perfect for warmer weather. The silhouette is also so easy and flattering on everyone. This exact dress is not available any more, but I have linked some similar pieces below! I paired the dress with my favorite espadrilles. I know these are a bit of a splurge, but you will have the...

Sail to Sable Spring

I want to start by saying that it has been in the 40s here in Minnesota, and our snow is melting! This has put me in the best mood, but also the sunniest mood, haha. I know that there is probably several cold and snowy days left for us this season, but the current weather says that spring and are coming! I feel like this eyelet top  (gifted) from Sail to Sable just screams ready for spring. It is such a gorgeous eyelet of what looks like flowers. The flutter sleeve detail is also such a perfect touch to make this top even more feminine. I paired it with these jeans , this bag (similar), and my favorite espadrilles , and it made me feel like green grass and spring flowers were right around the corner! Here is a better look at the flutter detail. I also felt like this top was perfect for all of the at home adventures before actual spring is here. It is such a comfy, light weight top that can really be styled a number of ways. I was planning on only styling this outfit indoors, but...
