Elevating Everyday Experiences

This year, there has been this movement to romanticize your life. To do and find things little things around you that make whatever moment you are in seem more exciting and enjoyable. Through all this, I am found myself gravitating towards using and adding things into my life that make something mundane feel luxurious or romantic in some way. I've been thinking about how elevating everyday experiences has been my version of romanticizing my life. I have really been trying to not save things for a special occasion. That it is ok to use your fancy skincare, put the nice sheets on the bed, and open that bottle of champagne that has been sitting there. This has helped me feel like I have some more depth in my life, as my med school routine is pretty monotonous and mundane. Another thing that has helped elevate my everyday life, is how I designed and decorated my apartment. The blue and white, rattan, caning and everything brings me so much joy everyday. It makes me love my space and ...

My Daily Routine

I have always been someone who thrives off of a routine. I think that's why I loved going to school as a child because the whole day was a one big routine, aha. I also love reading about and watching other people's daily routines because it feels oddly calming to me. I thought it would be fun to share my daily routine in medical school. Hint: there's A LOT of studying! I also hope this can help if you are struggling finding a routine, or are looking to change yours. Mine is not the that ground breaking, but it works for me. Wake-up around 5:30am: I like to have time in the morning, and not wake up and feel completely rushed out the door. I usually make coffee and sit on the couch for a few minutes to just enjoy it. That is always the best part of the morning! I also wash my face or body shower or full shower with a hair wash. At 6ish to 6:50am , I wake up my brain, and do a study review. I've been doing my Anki cards for the day in the morning because I feel the most...

Winter Survival part 1- Indoors

We are here/it is here...winter that is (we have been having highs of 0 degrees...). I have kind of been anxious about this winter since the chilly weather started to settle in last fall. I was worried that winter would feel like last spring, and I think no one wants to revisit those feelings. But honestly, winter hasn't been as bad as I thought it was going to be, but it is also not great haha. I have definitely tried to adopt a more hygge mindset about embracing winter weather and all that you cozy indoor space can offer you.  So today, I am sharing my tips on how we are surviving this winter *indoors edition.*   Theme Dinner Nights- We started doing this to have something to look forward to every couple of weeks. Our theme is pick a travel destination, and make dinner from the destination. It has been fun! The other night we had Greek/Mediterranean, and it was incredible making everything at home. It could also be fun to try to make a recipe from a favorite restaurant from...

Spruce up your Work From Home Space

Working/studying from home might be the new normal for now. I have always thought that having a space that makes you happy is very important for productivity and attentiveness. I know that when I worked at the clinic, I brought some things in to make my desk a bit more, well comfortable and homey. There's no time like the present to spruce up your home work space, even it is just a table against the wall in an odd place in your home! I think we will be at this longer than we know, so might as well get comfy. Here's a fun mood board I put together for your inspiration!   Art print   |   Note pad  |   Sticky notes   |   Pen jar   |   Organization tray  |   Ginger jar   Trinket box   |   Storage bin   |   Desk I really think you can do this on a budget, too. I found lots of goodies here from Target that ship! You can also look around your home and see what you ca...

5 Unique Things To Do While at Home

I am not sure what day of social distancing [it should actually be called physical distancing lol] we are on, but it is starting to feel like we have been doing this for months already 😅. Working from home or not, you are probably in need of things to take the place of your normal outings. My guess is that quite a few of you guys may have burned through Netflix, Hulu and Disney+ already, NO judgement because I have done my fair share of binge watching too!!! We are currently making our way through The Golden Girls available on Hulu! If you are already bored with streaming, books, puzzles and games, then this should be helpful. It is also great if you just need to mix things up a bit, like me! I really thrive off having a variety of things to do, so I have cultivated this list of unique things to do while we are all doing our part and staying home. Let me know if you have found any different activities! Here's some more unique ways to spend your time!! 1. Do a deep...

#SparksJoy

KJP Dress  | Stocking You may have noticed, lately, that I have been using the phrase "sparks joy" a lot. I am not talking about the Konmari Method sparks joy (lol), but little things, feelings, experiences that actually make me feel joy. There is only 36 days until Christmas, and 43 days until the end of the decade. End of the DECADE! That is insane!  So, I am making #SparksJoy my motto for the holidays, and rest of the year/decade. I want to find all the joyful things for the rest of the year. It also helps that my favorite holiday season of the year is here, and it is a joyful one! Something that #SparksJoy can really be anything that makes you feel happy (and if organizing the Konmari way is what brings you joy, then that is ok too 😂). Recently, I have being feeling a lot of joy from the beautiful late fall sunsets here in New Jersey. There have been actually breathtaking, and the other night while I was driving, I actually found a place to pull of the roa...

My Hair MVP's

BTW my hair is more blonde now! Sooo I actually have been getting a lot of questions about my hair, which makes me kind of laugh because I did not understand how to take care of hair for a long time. I think I started to figure out a hair routine that works for me about 2-ish years ago. At that time, I realized that I could not get up at 5am everyday to wash my hair before work. (also because this is not the greatest for your hair, ahah) I decided that I needed to revise my hair game plan, and this is what it has molded into over the past few years! Here is my general routine- I do not strictly follow this, but this I try to stick to a schedule around this: 1. Washing my hair ever 2-3 days. I really cannot stretch it out must past this because my scalp gets SO oily, and workouts make it way harder to control the oil. I do sometimes schedule workouts around hair washing, lol, yeah I said it.  2. Using dry shampoo before going to bed. I feel like this was the best...

On Broadway- Tips for affordable show tickets!

My ENTIRE life, I have been in love with musical theater. The love goes way back, but I remember when it started. I was 6 years old, and we went to see a regional production of The Music Man (actually, was at one of the most famous dinner theaters: Chanhassen Dinner Theater! This is where Laura Osnes got her start! if you know you know 😉). I was mesmerized at what was happening on stage, and fell in love with musicals. Since then, I have always been more inclined to see live theater, than to go to a movie. Musicals are such a special space because of the fact that they are live.  Whenever I go to see a show, I always think that that particular performance is "just for us;" meaning that even though a show is rehearsed, and has the same dialogue and songs, being live on stage is not going to be exactly the same  for every performance. No one else will see that particular performance that you saw, and that makes it feel more like a special experience. Stage actors do not...

What I'm Loving

This dress is in stock! Hello friends! I am here with my September edition of What I'm Loving. I realized that I had failed at doing these monthly, and my last one was in July (whoops 😬). I cannot believe that September is half way over?? Like this is corny, but actually where is the time going?!? This past weekend, we went to visit some friends in Philly to watch some sports ball at a fun bar, and WOW I was like how is it already football season?!? Any way, I have had my eye on, and have been loving a number of things already this month, so enjoy. Also sharing some things from August because I missed that month! Starbucks new pumpkin drink! This pumpkin cream cold brew they have out is freaking amazing. I always ask for it less sweet, but I did try the regular version with all of the syrup pumps, and it was also good! (I just prefer coffee things less sweet!) I would 10000% recommend that you try this, this season! GMG September Collection I was not ready/...

Sunset and Rosé

Today is my first day of the semester!! I cannot believe I will be done with my Master's after this!! I am still in a summer state of mind, ahahah, so here's something from my vacation 😊. The other night, on our Hamptons/Long Island trip, we took a sunset boat cruise around Montauk. I am one of those people who love to watch a sunset. There is something so beautiful about watching the sun go down on, and seeing all of the gorgeous colors of sky. I have seen sunsets in many places around the country, but this one was incredible. It was BYOB, so I picked out a totally Hamptons vibes bottle of rosé for us called Summer in a Bottle from Wolffer (where we went on my birthday!). I obviously had to bring these portable wine glasses . I actually won these from a giveaway Helen ( Style Inherited ) was doing to celebrate her blogiversary! They are from a brand called Goverre , and they are perfect for rosé. For my sunset cruise style, I went with an easy classic ...

25 Things + my birthday outfit!

I used to think about how far away my golden birthday was. I thought 25 on 25 would never get here, but wow that came up FAST!! I am spending my birthday on Long Island, exploring the Hamptons, and it is amazing. I love love the vibe of the Hamptons, and all the cute little towns have to offer. On my actual birthday, we went to Wolffer Estate Vineyards because they have my favorite rose! I take rose all day very seriously, haha. 25 is such a crazy age! Am I in my mid-20s or late-20s?? Am I closer to 30??? I feel like this is the first age where I have had to process a lot about life, haha. But to celebrate 25 years, I have put together a list of 25 things I want to do or accomplish before 26 comes along. (also A LOT of birthday outfit pictures and birthday pictures!! outfit details will be link at the bottom!) 1. Finish my master's degree! 2. See Hamilton, 😋. 3. Land my first partnership for the blog. 4. Take and kill the MCAT again. 5. GO TO NANTUCKET! Th...

Blue Light Blocking Glasses

When I ordered new glasses back in May, I told the optician that I was a graduate student (and blogger, aha). I said that I spent a lot of my time in front of a screen whether that be in lecture, studying, or writing. She instantly recommended that I have blue light blocking in my new lenses. I totally agreed! It has now been about 2 months wearing my everyday glasses with blue light blocking lenses, and I wanted to give you little review/insight into how they have been working for me so far. When I first picked up my glasses, I was SO excited. (I love picking out new glasses because it is like a fun new accessory!) I put on the glasses so they could be adjusted, and they just seemed like I was looking through normal glasses! I instantly noticed a difference when looking at my phone screen, though. It looked/s like the "night shift" setting was on all the time, but not in a bad way. That first day felt almost life changing, yes one day felt like a world of difference fo...

My Favorite Gluten Free Things

Can we just take a minute to appreciate that Nutella drizzle.  This may be news to some of you, and I feel like a lot of you may have figured this out, but I have celiac disease. I have mentioned it here, and there on my instagram, or really just talked about finding some great gluten free eats. But today, I wanted to share some of my favorite gluten free things out there. This post may turn into a my favorite things at Trader Joe's post, but what can I say; I am a girl who loves her TJ's! 1. Trader Joe's gluten free toaster waffles These waffles have been my all time favorite gf waffle for YEARS!!! No other frozen gf waffle has even come close to being this good. My favorite way to eat them is going to sound strange, ahah. I have not found a gf bread that I really like, so instead of avo-toast, I have avo-waffle! I just put half an avocado on a toasted gf waffle, mash it with salt and pepper, and top it with Everything bagel seasoning. Perfection.  2. Banza...
