Gift Guides edition no. 4

Happy Gift Guide Friday! Today, I have a couple of gift guides for the host/hostess or traveler in your life! I often forget about a nice little host gift, and end up just bringing them a bottle of wine. This is always a crowd pleaser, but I want to be a bit more intentional going forward. The guide for the host/hostess also works for those friends and family that just love to be the entertainer! I definitely know a few of those people! Also, I seem to travel a lot, so the guide for the traveler is what I love to travel with, and what I think others would like too. A giant wrap/scarf/mini blanket is always a MUST! Also, those headphones are the ones I personally have, and are just fantastic. Enjoy the guides today! Let me know if you have any more ideas for these categories, as I am always interested what other people would gift! A Thanksgiving Look

Turtleneck  |   Skirt  |   Tights  |   Boots Thanksgiving is only one week away! I am excited to go home, and spend time with my family and friends. This is a holiday that is HARD to dress for. On one hand, you want to wear joggers and a big sweater because of all of the yummy food and treats. On the other hand, you want to dress up, or slightly dress up while still feeling comfy. Hence, the big dressing dilemma: how to create the right look for your kind of holiday? I like to dress it up a little , without wearing a cocktail outfit or gown, haha. I created this look for a dressy, casual look. It is an easy outfit to put together, and I bet you have some similar pieces in your closet! A turtleneck, plaid skirt and tights is such a classic fall look that is also great for this holiday. It is kind of an easy dressing equation too because it is so easy to mix and match what you have in your closet, or buy one new piece that you know will go with anything, like a fun new skirt

#SparksJoy

KJP Dress  | Stocking You may have noticed, lately, that I have been using the phrase "sparks joy" a lot. I am not talking about the Konmari Method sparks joy (lol), but little things, feelings, experiences that actually make me feel joy. There is only 36 days until Christmas, and 43 days until the end of the decade. End of the DECADE! That is insane!  So, I am making #SparksJoy my motto for the holidays, and rest of the year/decade. I want to find all the joyful things for the rest of the year. It also helps that my favorite holiday season of the year is here, and it is a joyful one! Something that #SparksJoy can really be anything that makes you feel happy (and if organizing the Konmari way is what brings you joy, then that is ok too 😂). Recently, I have being feeling a lot of joy from the beautiful late fall sunsets here in New Jersey. There have been actually breathtaking, and the other night while I was driving, I actually found a place to pull of the roa

Anthropologie Gift Guide

Everything at Anthropologie always sparks joy for me during the holidays! I have picked some of my faves for this season! These would make a great stocking stuffer, hostess gift, or small gift for a friend! I have a tradition with my friends where we get each other an ornament every year, and Anthro has some goodies this year!! I am so obsessed with the champagne tea towel. It is not technically from the holiday section, but it says celebration to me! (It also says "Lady's who Brunch" 😂.) Holiday mugs  |  Gondola ornament  |   Macaron ornaments Parisian bear ornament  |   Champagne tea towel  |   Macaron stack ornament Champagne ornament  |   Holiday sugar bowl  |   Avocado ornament  |   Spiced cider candle Also, I realized I should have posted this last weekend when Anthro had their home sale, but I feel like they will do another one soon! My Hair MVP's

BTW my hair is more blonde now! Sooo I actually have been getting a lot of questions about my hair, which makes me kind of laugh because I did not understand how to take care of hair for a long time. I think I started to figure out a hair routine that works for me about 2-ish years ago. At that time, I realized that I could not get up at 5am everyday to wash my hair before work. (also because this is not the greatest for your hair, ahah) I decided that I needed to revise my hair game plan, and this is what it has molded into over the past few years! Here is my general routine- I do not strictly follow this, but this I try to stick to a schedule around this: 1. Washing my hair ever 2-3 days. I really cannot stretch it out must past this because my scalp gets SO oily, and workouts make it way harder to control the oil. I do sometimes schedule workouts around hair washing, lol, yeah I said it.  2. Using dry shampoo before going to bed. I feel like this was the best thi

Outfits Lately no. 2

I am back with another edition of my every day outfits! It was fun to just share mirror selfies of what I wore before, and I am trying to this more often. It has been getting COLD outside. Like one day we had 65 and the next day we had 30...it was quite the shock to the system. Probably not quite the shock I will get when I go home for Thanksgiving because it has been way colder (and snowing?!?) in Minnesota already...I am not ready for that kind of weather! As I add the pictures to this post, I definitely see a theme of what I have liking to wear recently, haha.  (I also need to clean my mirror again! Why does it get dirty so fast?!) Coat: Gal Meets Glam |   Jeans: Universal Thread  |   Bag: Longchamp  | Shoes: GMGxMargaux   Headband: Amazon Did you look at the highlighted picture of this post, and ask yourself who is that girl in jeans?!? Hahahah, I would have! I cannot explain it, but one weekend, I really wanted a pair of jeans. I have not owned jeans in al

First Gift Guide of the Season!

I like to get a jumpstart on holiday shopping, and the holidays in general! I LOVE this time of year, and for me it starts November 1. The spirit, cheer, togetherness and magic is why I love this season. It is a cozy time with friends, family, cookie baking, and hot cocoa drinking. I love how it makes me feel so happy and on a high, so I am starting my first ever gift guide series! I absolutely love giving gifts, and making it special, so this has been fun for me to put together! I think I am going to launch gift guides on Mondays, but would you like it more if it were on Friday so you would have ideas before weekend shopping?! Please please let me know!! Also, if there is any kind of guide you are interested in me making, I want to know that too!! 🎄 To start, I actually am sharing what is on my wishlist. If your family, um mother haha, keeps pestering you for a list, maybe this can give you some inspiration. Hopefully it also gives you some inspiration for what to get to a 20-

On Broadway- Tips for affordable show tickets!

My ENTIRE life, I have been in love with musical theater. The love goes way back, but I remember when it started. I was 6 years old, and we went to see a regional production of The Music Man (actually, was at one of the most famous dinner theaters: Chanhassen Dinner Theater! This is where Laura Osnes got her start! if you know you know 😉). I was mesmerized at what was happening on stage, and fell in love with musicals. Since then, I have always been more inclined to see live theater, than to go to a movie. Musicals are such a special space because of the fact that they are live.  Whenever I go to see a show, I always think that that particular performance is "just for us;" meaning that even though a show is rehearsed, and has the same dialogue and songs, being live on stage is not going to be exactly the same  for every performance. No one else will see that particular performance that you saw, and that makes it feel more like a special experience. Stage actors do not

Mad for Plaid: Holiday Outfit Ideas

Dressing for the holidays can be SO much fun. For me, each gathering I have or go to has a different vibe for an outfit. I usually have a cozy Friendsgiving, a homey and slightly dressy Thanksgiving, and a more dressed up Christmas Eve and Christmas, then PJs on Christmas morning. I absolutely love plaid/tartan this time of year, and you know that is  what I will be wearing all year long! Kelly In the City usually has a wear plaid challenge, and I am for sure participating! Here is a round up of my favorite plaid pieces so far this year. Tuckernuck black watch plaid dress Talbots plaid mules J. Crew Factory ruffle plaid button-up J. Crew plaid bow heels J.
