I was looking at my closet, and thought why not wear a very neutral outfit and accessorize with blue.  I love how the blues pop against the white shirt and gray+neutral colored skirt. I went with this light blue velvet bow from my friend Sarah's small business and an old blue bag from kate spade. They are not the exact same shade of blue, but I like that it wasn't so matchy-matchy but complemented each other well.  You can totally wear this outfit as we transition to warmer months by not wearing the tights- I had to wear the tights because it was still only 20 degrees in MN even though it felt warm compared to the last several weeks of arctic weather we had. We are here/it is here...winter that is (we have been having highs of 0 degrees...). I have kind of been anxious about this winter since the chilly weather started to settle in last fall. I was worried that winter would feel like last spring, and I think no one wants to revisit those feelings. But honestly, winter hasn't been as bad as I thought it was going to be, but it is also not great haha. I have definitely tried to adopt a more hygge mindset about embracing winter weather and all that you cozy indoor space can offer you.  So today, I am sharing my tips on how we are surviving this winter *indoors edition.*   Theme Dinner Nights- We started doing this to have something to look forward to every couple of weeks.   Winter really makes me feel blah about style and clothes. I recently wrote this blog post and shared an Instagram about classic wardrobe pieces I have had for a long time, and always reach for.   Yesterday on my Instagram feed, I shared an outfit from two years ago. I still own every piece of that outfit, and would still wear it today, and felt that was the definition of classic style. I am always at a crossroads of winter fashion between I don't know what to wear and I don't want to wear what is in my closet! I definitely feel somewhat uninspired during this season, but I usually feel like I want to shop but nothing appeals to me! I have done this in the past, but "shopping" your own closet at times like these can be a lot of fun. That is what I did to put together this outfit. Yes, I think I have worn a version of it before, but to me that means that I am still drawn to these pieces, like my other classic pieces from my IG post! Happy November 1!! Aka- the unofficial, official start the holiday season!! I want to start by saying that no one is really going to have a very "traditional" holiday season this year. So with that in mind, I really want to feel the holiday spirit at all times while we spend so much time at home this season. I have put together my holiday decor mood board! I like putting these together so I can better execute my vision for decor. I wanted to share this one because it really sparks joy.  My vision for this holiday is to have a pretty classic decor theme that also incorporates my love of blue and white, and of course, ginger jars. I took all of these images from Pinterest (although a lot of them are from Kelly in the City and Carly !). Happy Sweater Weather Season! I am always on the hunt for cozy sweaters this time of year, but I struggle to find them. I cannot wear wool, cashmere or any sweater material like that because I am allergic/my skin is verrry sensitive to it. It is so hard to find just cotton based sweaters in winter in fall!! I scrolled through many websites to find some of the best sweaters, that I CAN wear, out there! If you also have a wool allergy or sensitivity this one is for you! It is also for you if you just like a good sweater moment 😉. First, I need to shout out my favorite sweater: the Rollneck from J. Crew . I have it in sooo many colors, and wear them often! Coat   |   Boots   |   Dress Coat  |   Boots  |   Dress   I was not sure about this coat when it first came out, but then I got to see it in person at the Margaux x Gal Meets Glam event in NYC , and thought it was the chicest take on a classic trench. The embroidered florals make it perfect all year round, but I have been loving this pop of color in winter. The trench has a quilted lining, and is quite warm! ( I would say that it is better for "warmer" winter days for me, because I am perpetually chilled.) The coat is on major sale on GMGC (its linked, don't worry) for under $150 (original price was over $350, so its a HUGE mark down!!). Ok, sorry. I had to take the great opportunity with the title of this post 😂. Once it came to my brain, it was too funny to pass up! The days until the holiday are numbered, so I wanted to share this fun festive outfit, and chat about some holiday traditions today. This might be one of my favorite locations I have found back home in MN to shoot at during the winter. It looks all cheery and Christmasy! Why does it seem that plaid season is extra short this year?? It makes me sad how fast it is going because I still have so much plaid left to wear!!
