Capsule Winter Work Wear

Hello! I know it has been so long since my last published post, but back today with another work wear capsule. (I really want to get back to more regular posts!) I was inspired to put this together as I have somewhat of a winter uniform and reach for great basics most days and add things to pull together a cute and warm look for the office (well clinic or hospital for me 😊). I have another great work capsule wardrobe post from last late summer/fall so if it is not as cold where you live I would definitely check out that one: what to wear to work . A lot of those pieces I shared in that post would also transition nicely to colder months with adding some layers, sweaters, and tights! I like to think of easy basics to keep in my closet so it is easy to pull out simple pieces that can all mix and match. I also have a handful of more "fun" pieces to add to my basics such as striped T's and turtlenecks, tweed lady jackets, scarves, etc. I try to dress in layers or pick piece...

The Lady Jacket Edit

I love when more classic pieces become "trendy" because that means endless options to add to your forever closet. The obsession with the Lady Jacket silhouette has been one of my favorites this year. This fall, they are everywhere in the best way possible. I have a handful of these style of jackets/sweaters and they are on heavy rotation in my closet. I reach for them often and they have been the perfect addition to my clinic wardrobe. These jackets look so effortless and polished and can definitely be styled casual to professional. I searched the internet to find some of my favorite styles of these jackets and tried to find some at all price points- I even found one on Amazon! ADD TO CART

Happy March and welcome back to the blog! It has been awhile since the last post- school and getting covid again got in the way. But, I am on break this week so I am dusting off some drafts and writing some new posts! I have been loving these new arrivals from J. Crew. This gold button/Lady Jacket era style that has been in for this winter/spring season is one of my favorites. It is such a classic look that will always be in style and a great investment piece for your wardrobe. I am really eyeing the striped one but also the pink gingham one is adorable and I normally do not gravitate towards pink! I love all these great basics too- button-ups, sweaters and a great cut of white jeans. I am so excited for warmer weather ahead and fun spring outfits! What I Packed for the Holidays in NYC

I am headed into the city for a few festive days to kick off the holidays! New York during the holidays is one of my favorite times of year. For this trip, I tried to think about what would be chic, cozy and warm and would transition well from day to night. I will wear my over the knee boots during the day and can easily switch them out for my black platforms for our shows and dinners. I also wanted to feel a little festive in my outfits so we have some pops of plaid- like the tartan nap dress and headband.  NYC HOLIDAY TRIP PACKING LIST:  Black Jacket  |   Headband  |   Sherpa Jacket  |  Ear Muffs  |   Plaid Pants Feather Shirt  |   Black Dress  |   Black Turtleneck Mittens  |   Black Platforms  |   Black Boots  | Plaid Nap Dress Happy holidays, and #dontforgetyourpearls  SHOP THE POST: JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. How to Hill House Q+A

Not to be one of those influencers who says " I  got so many questions about ...", but I actually do get quite a few DMs with questions about Hill House Nap Dress sizing, shopping etc. I thought I could write up a big post that would always be live on the blog so anyone could easily reference it! Also this is not sponsored or anything, but maybe one day I can work with my dream brand :) If there is ever a question that is not answered here, please send me a DM and I will answer you and add it to this post! I own and wear a lot of Nap Dresses. I love this brand and love the founder and creator, Nell Diamond. I think she has such an incredible mission of HHH and for the fashion world. I even have their bedding , which was the first product/category HHH ever launched.  What size do you wear in the Ellie? -- I wear a small or x-small in the Ellie . All of my Ellie's are smalls except for one and I will explain why. This spring, HHH did a re-vamp of the Ellie: they made the ...

What to Wear for the Fourth of July

I cannot believe it is almost July! This summer is going by too fast for me, and I go back to school in early august this year so I don't have that much summer left! Anyway, we are so close to the Fourth of July, that I that I wanted to put together some festive Americana looks for the holiday. I tied together pieces from every kind of style I love: classic/preppy style and feminine/grandmillennial all with a twist of coastal grandmother because it just works :) No matter your plans for the long holiday weekend, I have a look for you. Coastal Grandmother Aesthetic

Who else has been loving the  Coastal Grandmother aesthetic trend on TikTok? I've been very engrossed in this trend that is actually not at all trendy and a nod to classic style, which I LOVE. Classic summer style is one of my favorite facets of classic style- linen dresses and pants, sun hats, walks on the beach and lots of rosé. This is literally me. And I consider myself a grandmillennial, so coastal grandmother is not too far off. Some may call it coast-grand-millennial ;) ALSO, a couple of weeks ago the Today Show did a segment on the trend, and featured a clip from one of my coastal gran TikToks! These are things you need to create your own coastal grandmother aesthetic, the coastal grandmother starter kit if you will. You probably have most of these things in your closet if you are a fellow classic style lover, like myself. So lets all live our lives as if we lived in a Nancy Meyers movie, and have the best coastal grandmother girl summer. Coast Grandmother Essentials...

Daily Looks

Happy Monday! I feel, when this time of year comes, I am always stuck in an outfit rut, so I wanted to share some simple daily looks incase you are in the same outfit boat and need inspiration. As I have mentioned before, I have loved playing with my style this year, and adding different elements I love, but still keeping it classic. These looks are a good representation of that, and my advice to play with your style a bit! I basically have been wearing variations of these looks for a few weeks, aha. I also need some outfit inspo! Also, it recently started to get cooler in Indy, and I need to bring out the tights, aha. I think any look here would be fine to add tights and maybe boots too!  Button-down | Similar Jeans | Similar Sweater | Flats -Use code SARAHFLINT-BALIBBYM for $50 off! Blue and White For Fall

I am going to be honest, all throughout summer I thought about how I was going to wear my favorite color way into fall. It was easier in the beginning of the season to wear more warm weather dresses because it was still in the 90's. And then, I found this dress . It was just the piece I was envisioning to take my favorites into the cooler weather season. The blue and white florals, the long puff sleeves and the darling collar really help tie it together for fall! Did I mention that this dress is in the $30 range ?? Because it is, and it totally looks and feels like it could be more expensive! I was also very excited that clogs came back. I love how they look a bit more "fall" but still have some feminine touches that match my current season of style- grandmillennial. I have been wearing these clogs every other day because they just go with anything- dresses, skirts, jeans, anything! I almost always have a sweater tied around my neck just in case I get cold, which is of...

Fall Wishlist

Even though it is still 90 degrees in Indiana, we are getting into full on fall and pumpkin spice season. Fall is not typically my favorite season, but it is still fun to dress and shop for. I recently placed a few orders for some fall pieces, but there is still some on my wishlist. This year, dressing for fall feels a little different for me. I have been so in love with exploring the feminine, grandmillennial side of my style, that I want to incorporate it into my fall style. It is hard to bring all those blue and whites into fall when the fashion season tends to move towards darker colors and neutrals.  With that said, that classic fall, classic style/east coast prep is something I love! There are such great pieces out this season, and I love that they are bringing in those feminine elements of puff sleeves and some lighter colors. Puff sleeves have become one of my favorite trends that is not too trendy. Clogs should also be on your fall wishlist. They are back, and they ...

Fall Trend: Clogs

I have a confession: I have loved clogs for so long. I am so excited that these are coming back this fall! I have been eyeing so many fun styles of clogs from so many different brands and stores, in the past few weeks. There are so many great pairs, and even Target has gotten in on the trend. My love for clogs goes back to when I worked as a scribe in family medicine. My dress code was business casual and I had to wear close-toe shoes that I could run around the clinic in, but still looked nice and were comfy. Clogs were/are great because they give you some height, are comfy, and go with any look. I had so many pairs that I had to retire because of 2 straight years of daily wear! I rounded up some great styles I have been eyeing this season, and made sure to include all price points. The pair from Target I included, is only $30! A note on this pair though, is that they have been going in and out of stock so quickly, so if you want a pair snag them as soon as you see them in your...

Puff Sleeve Dream

I have really into the trend of puff sleeves this summer. To be honest, I was not in love with this sleeve style when I first saw it everywhere. But I realized, you have to find the right kind of puff sleeve pieces for you and your style.  The details and print of the fabric on this puff sleeve dress are just so well done. I love how it is subtle while making a statement. I will never say no to this dress silhouette, as I think it looks good on everyone. I paired this dress with my new bow earrings from Tiffany Custard Designs , and I felt like a grandmillennial dream. (The earrings can be made clip-on! The owner, Tiffany, is so sweet, and I definitely want to buy another pair of earrings from her small business!) I was in one of my favorite park/gardens during golden hour. It always feels like I have stepped into summer gardens in Europe, like the English or French country. It is such a serene place, and a great place to be when the sun is setting. The lighting was magica...

Must Haves for Summer

Similar Dress It feels like I am jumping ahead and sharing summer things, but summer is my favorite season! I always feel like the warm weather months are super short, so I am trying to extend my favorite season by sharing summer content early. I guess it gives you time to round out your summer wardrobe before the season officially starts! Ironically enough, I will be sharing my spring bucket list soon, so look out for that one. - Striped Boatneck Tee // This is a casual classic that I reach for all summer long! I sometimes can dress it up with a nicer pair of linen pants or navy skirt and espadrilles! I also love this one , too! - White Jeans // Another warm weather classic. White jeans are just so easy to create a cute look, especially on chillier evenings. - Pearl Straw Bag // A straw bag of some sorts is so summer, and I have been lusting over this pearl embellished bag for a while! I love that its from a small women owned business based in NYC, too. - Bamboo Wicker Bag ...

A Born on Fifth Dress

Nothing makes me happier than being able to wear a cute little sundress and not freeze. I was so happy to be in Florida a couple of week ago, and finally wear this dress ! It is the mini dress from the Born on Fifth x Antonio Melani collection for Dillards . I was instantly drawn to the stunning blue and white pattern! I will link more of this pieces from the collection below! This is not normally the length and silhouette I would go for, but something was drawing me to this dress the most. I ended up loving this silhouette more than I thought I would- the baby doll look is nice because it is nice and fitted up top, and then just flows down and feels very flattering. There's also the bow that makes this dress feel so fun and feminine.  I styled the dress with my go to spring/summer accessories: espadrilles and a wicker bag. I was nervous to wear espadrilles with it because of the shorter length, but it ended up looking fine and not visually shortening the dress (these can b...
