Weekend Packing Guides: The Hamptons

I'm totally day dreaming of all of my favorite places to take a little trip to this summer. So many places come to mind for a great long weekend summer trip. I thought I would start with the Hamptons. I have only been there a handful of times but love it. It is a really a big spot on the east end of Long Island and there is so much to enjoy! When I think about packing for a long weekend, I pick pieces that can be mixed and matched, as well as transition from day to night. This can also leave room in your suitcase for a little shopping :) Long Weekend Packing Guide: The Hamptons Hamptons Sweater | White Dress | Sunhat Linen Shorts | Pearl Handbang | Bow Slides * Sunglasses | Swim Top + Bottom | Espadrilles | Tennis Dress * use code SARAHFLINT-BALIBBYM for $50 off the sandals! Since there is really so much to do and see in the Hamptons, tailoring your packing list to your activities is very helpful. For this packing guide here are the activities I was thinking of: going to...

Charleston Guide

CHARLESTON GUIDE: Last week, I had the most wonderful trip to Charleston, SC. This sweet little city has been on my list for a long time and I am so grateful that I got to check it off (not completely check it off because I will go back!). I put together more of a what we did during our stay. I loosely call this a guide because it was my first time there, and we didn't nearly get to all Charleston has to offer, but I included a "for next trip" section at the end :) Enjoy! And if you are headed here, I am jealous! DAYTIME ACTIVITIES: There is really so much to do and see in this sweet, historic city. I think our favorite part was just wandering and getting lost in the side streets to admire all of the beautiful old homes. So here's the list: -Walk through Waterfront Park + see the Pineapple Fountain -Wander down East Bay St. to see Rainbow Row + keeping walking down towards the Battery to walk along the water and admire the homes -Tour a historic mansion -Get lost in...

What I Packed for Charleston

I am just back from my trip to Charleston, SC. It was an amazing trip, and I need to go back to explore all that I missed. I love seeing what others pack for trips to various destinations, and thought it could be helpful to share what I packed for my trip to Charleston. Since my family has a house in Florida, I am no stranger to the heat and humidity of the South this time of year. This is what I always keep in mind when packing for a late spring/early summer trip to this part of the country. I gravitate towards flowy dresses, lighter colors, and throw in sweaters for icy air conditioning and cooler nights.  For this trip, I wanted to include pieces that I can dress down during the day, and dress up a little more for night time since we love to do fun, nice vacay dinners. So I mostly packed dresses and skirts. I did wear linen pants for travel, so I also had those in case I was feeling like pants (I wasn't!). I also brought a swim suit + cover up for the rooftop pool/terrace...

What I Would Pack for a Winter Vacation

I am still home in Minnesota on break, and it is quite chilly here already. I was going to take a short trip somewhere warm during winter break, but we decided it would be best to postpone it as there is a surge in the pandemic. As the high temperature this weekend is -4 (yes below zero degrees plus a windchill..), I am trying to think warm thoughts. So here are my warm thoughts in the form of my packing wishlist/what I would pack for a winter holiday. Stay warm, friends! White Embroidered Dress Pearl Straw Bag - dressed up, fancy vacation dinners are my favorite part about being on holiday. This sweet pearl embellished straw bag is the perfect accompaniment to your going out look. Blue and White Long Dress - this dress is absolutely stunning, and I hear nothing but good things about the brand. Scalloped Straw Hat Sunscreen High Waisted Bikini- Top + Bottoms White One Piece Swimsuit Lace Up Sandals - use code SARAHFLINT-BALIBBYM for $50 off! I wear these sandals on repeat during the w...

Outfits I Wore in Rhode Island

I wanted to do a round up of what I wore when I was on the East coast/Rhode Island a couple of weeks ago. I always have fun styling outfits for trips, and this might have been one of my favorites. It was also my first real trip/travels since early 2020, besides driving to Florida this spring. I included the outfit from each full day we were in Rhode Island. I did wear this Kate Spade dress when I went into NYC, but I did not get a good photo of myself in it. Some pieces I could not find an exact link for, so I included some similar ones. I pretty much these Sarah Flint sandals with every outfit! I will link them on each one, but wanted to make sure to include my code for $50 off here: SARAHFLINT-BALIBBYM . Postcards from Rhode Island

My Rhode Island trip was such a dream! We went for a long weekend to celebrate my cousin's 30th birthday, and had the best time. I will definitely be writing more of a guide post of what we did, and what I recommend. I did bring my big camera, but feel like I barely touched it and used my iPhone to snap quick photos of our travel. I kind of loved doing it that way, as I can easily look back at my camera roll on any occasion. I have done posts like this in the past, but not in a while because I have not really traveled since early, early 2020. So enjoy these (phone) snaps from the trip! When we got to RI, Tropical Storm Elsa was passing through, so our first full day was pretty rainy to start with, and we toured some mansions. This is the view from Marble House. It is one of the mansions on the Cliff Walk. The storm passed mid-afternoon, and the sun came out. We outfit changed, and explored Bowen's Wharf. Complete with rosé bubbly! All of the hydrangeas in bloom made me so hap...

What I Packed for Rhode Island

I am SO excited to be back on the East Coast for a bit. Today, we are driving to Rhode Island to spend the long weekend and celebrate my cousin's 30th birthday (thirty, flirting and thriving, right?!). I have only been to Rhode Island on one other occasion, and that was a marching band trip where we marched in the oldest Fourth of July celebration in the country. Thinking back on that, it was a very surreal experience that I am grateful for, and I am even more excited to get to go back to that state and explore as an adult. As soon as I knew we would be going to Rhode Island, I thought about the outfits for the trip. It invoked a sense of the classic East Coast prep style that I already love so much, and so I took that as my packing inspiration! The Kiel James Patrick store/brand is based out of Newport, RI, so I will definitely be visiting and I had to leave room in my suitcase for some new KJP pieces. I haven't had to pack for travel in awhile, so I decided to take a new ap...

Beach Vacation Packing List

I cannot remember the last time I went on a true summer vacation to the beach. When I lived on the East Coast, it was really easy to take a day trip or weekend to the beach, but nothing feels the same as a real week long summer vacation! Especially this summer, I am itching to go on one and put that into inspiration for a beach vacay packing list! Most these pieces, or some variation of them, would be in my beach bound suit case. It is clear I am theme of bows, gingham and blue and white here, haha.  BEACH VACATION PACKING LIST: Swim Top + Bottoms | Sunscreen | Dress | Straw Bag Smocked Top | Espadrilles White Skirt | Fleece | Pajamas Sandals (use SARAHFLINT-BALIBBYM for $50 off!) | Sun Hat -I always think a sweater is essential wherever you go in the summer because it can get chilly at night, and there's is nothing less fun than being cold. I love the DS Fleeces because they also look chic, and are an easy option to tie around your shoulders in case you need it....

Nautical Stripes

Stripes are such a timeless pattern. I love that when I buy a striped piece I know that it will be in my closet for quite some time. Stripes also work on almost any piece of clothing, so it is fun to have a variety of one pattern in your closet.  When I saw this long, tiered striped skirt , I was instantly drawn to it- I actually first saw it in an IG ad because apparently the app knows me well, haha! The type of stripe is lovely, and they are the perfect lighter blue! It is a great find and great quality for under $100. It does seem to run big- I am wearing a small, and it is falling off my waist a little, so take the into consideration. I wanted to keep this look simple, but slightly elevated casual. I paired it with this sleeveless, white button-up - another great closet staple. Here, I wore this with flat sandals , but you could easily dress this up with some block heels (use code SARAHFLINT-BALIBBYM for $50 off!) or espadrilles . Of course, I wore my Lisi Lerch sta...

Finger Lakes Travel Guide

Finger Lakes, NY Travel Guide This was my first time to the Finger Lakes in New York. And, it has been the only "vacation" I have been on in 2020. I had a blast!!! Here is my postcards post with some gorgeous snaps of the trip. And here is what I packed for the trip. I asked on Instagram if anyone had any questions about the Finger Lakes, and have done my best to answer them within the post! Here is my guide and recommendations for the Finger Lakes!! When to Go:  I would highly recommend going during the fall when it is closer to, or at peak leaf season. The colors were absolutely gorgeous! I did learn that the Indigenous Peoples Day Weekend in October (when we were there) tends to be the busiest weekend of the year because of the fall colors and long weekend, which was apparent on Saturday and Sunday. I would love to come back in the summer for water activities and vineyard tours too. Where We Stayed: We stayed in this Airbnb . It is a refurbished church, and is beautifu...
