What I'm Loving no. 22: My 2020 Favorites!

I am not sure why, but my 2019 favorite things post has had a lot of views these last couple of months (like it is slightly blowing up?!)! But I am back with my favorite things of the year, 2020 edition, plus some of my favorite moments and blog posts of this past year. It has been a ride this year, but I am so incredibly grateful for my family and friends this year, and they are definitely at the top of the favorites list 😊. 2020 Favorites: 1. Glossier Lash Slick - If you have not tried Glossier products yet, get on it because they live up to the hype! This mascara is incredible, I love how it lengthens and fills your lashes. The look it gives lashes is also one that says I am wearing make-up, but it does look that natural. I also love the Boy Brow product.  2. Favorite Books: The Vanishing Half + The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo - These were my top two reads of the year. They are both kind of historical fiction. I was really sucked in by both stories, and thought the...

What to Gift Yourself This Year

Oh my goodness, it is Christmas Eve Eve! I hope you guys are like me, and enjoy giving a gift to yourself.  It could be a holiday gift to yourself or just a end of the year, you survived another one gift to yourself. I love picking something that I would normally not get for myself on a day-to-day basis, an investment piece if you will. Also, if you still need some last minute holiday outfit inspo- I love this outfit! (much of it is on sale, and most J. Crew stores are offering curbside pick up!) Plaid Pants  |   Ruffle-neck Sweater  |   Flats (use code SARAHFLINT-BALIBBYM for $50 off your first pair!) Here are a few ideas of what to gift to yourself this holiday season. After all, the 12 Days of Christmas technically start on Christmas day, so the holiday is extended! 1. Sarah Flint shoes Something I have learned as I have come into my mid-20's, is to invest in your feet. Quality over quantity of shoes is important, enter Sarah Flint. I was gifted thi...

What I'm Loving no. 21

As usual, I am going to start with my broken record "I can't believe its already [insert month here]." But, is it actually November?!?!?? I am excited, and already decorating and planning for the Holiday season? Absolutely!! October was a pretty fun month, and I made sure to fill it with all of the pumpkin things. We even took a fall road trip to the Finger Lakes, and it was incredibly beautiful this time of year. I have a really mixed bag of monthly favorites, so enjoy haha!! I hope this is another great distraction from the week we have had. 1. Pumpkin Candle - This is one of my favorite pumpkin scented candles I have found. I love that it is not too sweet, and not too over bearing or spicy. It is the perfect amount of warm, cozy pumpkin feeling. I think it is a good scent that you could burn through the holiday season because it is a warm scent that reminds of fall through Thanksgiving to Christmas baking! 2. Pumpkin O's (or cheerios)- I do not eat cereal often, ...

Postcards from the Finger Lakes

We took an extra long weekend last week, and drove up to the Finger Lakes in Upstate NY. I had never been there before, but wow was it beautiful. We spent our days there hiking in the mornings, and checking out wineries in the afternoon. It was a great time, and we picked the perfect time to go because the fall colors were gorgeous, and it hadn't gotten too chilly to sit outside and enjoy a glass of wine. Here are some snapshots from the fun little road trip! Lots of pictures ahead! We stayed at this funky little refurbished church Airbnb . It was actually a pretty cool place to stay because it had a lot of history, and was beautifully redone. Look at those original floors! The location is pretty good too because it is between Keuka and Seneca lakes- so good access to a lot of wineries, haha.  On our first full day, we spent the morning hiking the Keuka Outlet Trail . The trail is lined with trees and the colors were just incredible. This trail is also has water falls in bot...

What I'm Loving no. 20

It is full on fall now. I am still not wild about the cooler weather, but trying to embrace it with creating a cozy vibe. Last month, I really did not let myself feel fall (besides some early pumpkin cream cold brews 😋) until the first day of fall. Now I am just trying to embrace the season with all things cozy. Here are my September favorites! How cute is this wine tote from Line and Cleat (c/o)! September Favorites: First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads // I actually have been using these for about 6ish weeks now, and have noticed a difference in the texture of my skin. I use them in the morning after I rinse off my face, and it feels oh so refreshing. I let the product dry on my face before doing the rest of my daytime skin care. I would say that I do feel guilty that the pads are not reusable, and not that sustainable, but will continue to use them because I feel like I can make up for that in other parts of my lifestyle, aha. Here is the bigger container! Dyson Airwrap ...

What I'm Loving no. 19

I celebrated my 26th birthday in August! Bye, bye August. You will be missed! I know so many people that are ready for fall, but I just can't imagine going into the colder months, and not be able to enjoy the outdoors. Doing things outside is the only way you can really get out and about these days, so going into fall and winter feels more like a punishment. Summer felt somewhat like a peak into normalcy, so I am not wishing that away in trade of cooler months and less chance to be outdoors! With that said, I am excited from some fall things like pumpkin, apple picking and all the pretty fall colors. I also haven't had a blog post in a while because of some business with med school apps and such. I also did an IGTV with Kelly where we chatted about being premed/grad school/med school apps, so go to Instagram, and check it out! Now that my ode to summer is done (thanks for coming to my TedTalk 😂), lets get into my favorites from the month of August. 1.   Drunk Elephant TLC ...

5 Back to School Tips

I cannot believe it is back to school time, already. It is also very strange that I am not going back to school this year...As I assume that most people are starting back up on Zoom University (or have mostly online classes) this fall, I have put together some of my best tips that will ensure a successful semester. I mostly geared these toward college/graduate/professional students, but hope I can appeal to all ages and maybe even you guys in the working world! Dress  |   Similar Scrunchie  |   Bedding  (on sale!) 1. Check your email frequently. This is something easy you can do to make sure you do not miss any information about the courses you are taking, and updates from school, in general. Be ready for anything as 2020 has become the year of the unexpected, and getting in the habit of frequently checking your email will keep you in the loop.  2. Don't forget to Network. It may be easy to think that you do not need to go to office hours or make a...

Cute Face Masks part 2

Happy Monday Morning, Friends 😊 I hope you could have a nice weekend! I know I had a pretty good one- I got to safely see friends and have a nice socially distance picnic by the lake where we watched the sunset, and were charged by angry ducks...yes ducks! I have no idea what we did to make them angry, but one duck would start making a b-line for our blankets, then we would shoo it away, but it would call for reinforcement and then have its posse try to swarm our site. It was freaky and comical. Great to get a good laugh in with friends! Any way, I have Cute Masks Part 2 for you today! Enjoy, and let me know if there are any other places with excellent masks!! The accessory of 2020 is here to stay for quite some time, so I rounded up some more masks picks to add to your collection! I feel like you can never have too many masks, like you can never have too many pairs of undies, aha (and yes, I went there)! Beau and Ro Masks Beau and Ro have some very fun printed masks in two kinds of m...

What I'm Loving no. 18

Happy Friday! I realized that I have not had a post all week because I have been occupied with secondary applications for medical school (yay!). It is also mid-August now (😳), and I have yet to put up my July favorites! I was going to just lump July and August into one, but it seemed odd to have summer things bleed into early fall when people are not interested in a sundress, ahah. I first want to announce that I am a Margaux Ambassador ! I also have a discount code for you to use for 10% off your first shoe order: libby10 . I will do a dedicated blog post soon, but wanted to get the word and discount out there for you guys! 1. Starbucks Order // I have been obsessed with a double shot on ice with almond milk. I know I can make this with my Nespresso, but sometimes it just tastes better when someone else makes it for you, lol. I am excited for the pumpkin cream to come back this fall because that would be SO GOOD with the iced espresso. 2. Books // In July I finished Educated . ...

Cute Face Masks

Mask wearing will definitely be the norm for the foreseeable future. There is A LOT of scientific evidence that links correct mask wearing to decreased transmission and incidence of disease. (So this is my plea for each of you to please, please wear a mask! Even if your state does not mandate it, please set an example for others, and wear that mask.) We have been making masks at home because we have a sewing machine. It has been a fun project for the past four months, but I realize that not everyone has a sewing machine and needs to purchase already made masks. I have seen some REALLY cute masks out there. I love that so many businesses have hopped on the mask train, and have come out with their own collections. I personally think that the non-medical masks are so much more fun for errands and every day wear, and that we should save the medical masks for the healthcare and frontline workers. I think all the masks available on the market is so clever because there is something for every...

What I'm Loving no. 17

June felt like it came and went. I swear yesterday was the just the first week of June! How has July Fourth already come and gone, and its practically mid July!? I promise I will be better about getting my monthly favorites up more quickly, ahah. This months list is a long one 😊. Gardening-  My aunt and uncle have a garden every summer. This year, however, we started the garden from SEEDS in late March. It was so fun to watch them sprout, I feel like they are my children, and the day we planted them outside felt like sending them to kindergarten, haha. It has been a surprisingly stress relieving activity, and it feels good to know exactly where your food is coming from. Look out for a full on gardening post and garden tour soon! Partake cookies - OMG these cookies!! I found this brand of cookies when I was looking for ways to support the Black community, so yes this is a Black-owned business that is also women run! We. Love. This. The cookies are free of the top 8 allerge...

SUMMER BUCKET LIST

My favorite season of the year is more or less, officially here! This summer will look a lot different than summers past, and I am trying not to be bummed about, and embrace my favorite season. I have put together my bucket list for summer! I really think you can still do things this summer while being safe and socially distancing yourself from others. Happy Summer!! SUMMER BUCKET LIST: 1. Beach time!- Nothing more says its summer, than going to the beach! I think this can easily be done social distancing wise as long as you pick a beach that is not typically crowded and set up camp far from others. 2. Go to a Winery- This is another favorite summer time activity. I absolutely love sitting outside at a winery for a tasting, or splitting a bottle of something with a cheese board. I do love trying new wines, and summer is perfect for trying all new rosé! Because #roséallday 3. Dining al fresco- preferably by the water!- Most parts of the country are starting to al...
