Last Minute Gift Ideas

It is already half way through December, and the holidays are in full swing! I don't know about you guys, but I always seem to plan out gifts well, and then find myself last minute shopping, hah. For my final gift guide, I have come up with some last minute gift ideas! I included things that ship fast like Amazon and Shopbob. I also have a list of some other ideas for easy, meaningful gifts! (If I have any more ideas for my list, I will add them and update the post!)

LAST MINUTE GIFT IDEAS:

SWEATER SHAVER: I definitely asked for one of these for Christmas, haha. But I feel like it is the gift that could be the most random, thoughtful thing. We all have that one favorite sweater that is starting to pill!

HYGGE BOOK: A social distance winter means you need to have a survival plan. This book on the Scandinavian practice of Hygge would be the perfect thing for the winter homebody. To go along with the cozy theme: BLANKETGINGER JAR CANDLE, PAJAMASCOOKBOOK.

LYCETTE DESIGNS GIFTCARD: A gift card can seem not as thoughtful, but when it is for something like a hobby a person has, I think its special that you remember their hobby! Lycette Designs is a small business needlepoint store. There are many other I love like Penny Linn Designs!

SARAH FLINT SHOES: I included these Sarah Flint shoes because now through December 17 (this thursday) SF is having FREE Overnight shipping with code SARAHFLINT-HOLIDAYOVERNIGHT. If you are new to Sarah Flint, you can also get $50 off by emailing/messaging me your name+order number or email used on the order- I will let my SF team know that you have made an order by giving them your order info, and you will get $50 off retroactively! If you miss their free shipping, you can always use my code SARAHFLINT-BALIBBYM for $50 off your first purchase!

BALA BANGLES: I have seen these all over, and think that it is a genius thing for the person who loves to work out but cannot go to the gym. It could also be fun to gift these with a month of virtual work out classes!

GINGER JARS: I was screaming when I found these two ginger jars-SMALL GINGER JAR + BIG GINGER JAR- on Amazon! They are lidded jars, so you could fill one up with treats, snacks, flowers and easily give it as a gift.

OTHER LAST MINUTE IDEAS:

WINE SUBSCRIPTION: I have always wanted to try this! I enjoy trying new wines, and being able to try new ones once a month would be such a fun gift. I have heard most about Winc, but there are other wine subscription services out there, too.

MEAL SUBSCRIPTION: This is something I have wanted to also try, but with having Celiac, it seems a bit risky for me! This would be a great gift for a recent college grad, or someone who wants to improve their home cooking skills. Hello Fresh and Blue Apron are the ones I hear the most about.

GIFT CARDS FOR LOCAL FAVORITES: I have been doing my best to shop small this year, and feel like I have had a great balance! Our favorite small businesses/stores/restaurants etc., need our help this year! A gift card to anything one of these feels very thoughtful. A restaurant card could be fun to gift as a date night.

MOVIE NIGHT BASKET: This has been a go-to gift of mine since I was in elementary school. What I do is pick out a popcorn bowl like this one, some DVDs OR a Netflix/Hulu/Amazon Prime gift card, popcorn, candy, popcorn seasoning, and maybe a blanket. Use the bowl as your gift basket, and put everything in there. Voila, a perfect gift for all the nights at home! You could also do a similar thing for a cookie making basket, game night, wine tasting basket, basically anything you can think of!

VIRTUAL COOKING/COCKTAIL MAKING CLASSES: Another way to support a small business. I have seen so many local restaurants here that are offering virtual classes. This is how you gift an experience in 2020. I have also seen cocktail classes which would be equally as fun! I have seen some virtual needlepointing classes for the #grandmillennial in your life.

LIBRO.FM MEMBERSHIP: Libro.FM is a subscription for audiobooks. You can gift memberships, and purchasing them helps to support local bookstores. (There is also a free trial if you want to try it out for yourself!) A great option for the reader that also supports local businesses.

As always,

#dontforgetyourpearls

Coastal Grandmother Aesthetic

Who else has been loving the  Coastal Grandmother aesthetic trend on TikTok? I've been very engrossed in this trend that is actually not at all trendy and a nod to classic style, which I LOVE. Classic summer style is one of my favorite facets of classic style- linen dresses and pants, sun hats, walks on the beach and lots of rosΓ©. This is literally me. And I consider myself a grandmillennial, so coastal grandmother is not too far off. Some may call it coast-grand-millennial ;) ALSO, a couple of weeks ago the Today Show did a segment on the trend, and featured a clip from one of my coastal gran TikToks! These are things you need to create your own coastal grandmother aesthetic, the coastal grandmother starter kit if you will. You probably have most of these things in your closet if you are a fellow classic style lover, like myself. So lets all live our lives as if we lived in a Nancy Meyers movie, and have the best coastal grandmother girl summer. Coast Grandmother Essentials: - B

What I Packed for Rhode Island

I am SO excited to be back on the East Coast for a bit. Today, we are driving to Rhode Island to spend the long weekend and celebrate my cousin's 30th birthday (thirty, flirting and thriving, right?!). I have only been to Rhode Island on one other occasion, and that was a marching band trip where we marched in the oldest Fourth of July celebration in the country. Thinking back on that, it was a very surreal experience that I am grateful for, and I am even more excited to get to go back to that state and explore as an adult. As soon as I knew we would be going to Rhode Island, I thought about the outfits for the trip. It invoked a sense of the classic East Coast prep style that I already love so much, and so I took that as my packing inspiration! The Kiel James Patrick store/brand is based out of Newport, RI, so I will definitely be visiting and I had to leave room in my suitcase for some new KJP pieces. I haven't had to pack for travel in awhile, so I decided to take a new ap

Favorite Spots: St. Paul, MN

I have been thinking about Minnesota lately, and felt like reminiscing on some of my favorite spots in St. Paul, MN. Most people hear a city in Minnesota, and think Minneapolis. Although I love the treasures of Minneapolis, I went to college in St. Paul (Roll Toms πŸ˜ŠπŸ’œ), and lived there for 6 years, so it has a special place in my heart. First off, lets get familiar with this city. St. Paul is the state capitol of MN!! It is NOT Minneapolis as so many people think! It is the older of the Twin Cities, and I think has more charm. Its divided into neighborhoods like any other city, and some of the best spots, are little neighborhood gems. The Twin Cities are both equally "Foodie" places, and we love some craft breweries/distilleries, and good eats!! Grandview Theatre pictured above! Used to walk there during college just to get popcorn! Merriam Park University of St. Thomas - my alma matter! (I surprisingly do not have any good pics of UST..) Izzie's Ice Cre
