What I'm Loving no. 16

I am officially on week 13 of quarantine! That seems crazy that that much time has passed, and so much time has passed that we have gone through several different weather seasons already. Just wow.  As usual, I am back with what I have been loving for the past month.

Its rosΓ© season!!!!

**A note going forward: I did take the last week off from posting her and on social media to learn, listen and amplify black voices. It may look like we are going "back to normal", but it is a new normal where we/myself will strive to do better about including black owned businesses, brands, and creators on our platforms. I am standing with this movement of social change, and hope you will too.

May Favorites:

Nespresso Machine //  I have had this for about 1.5 months now, but wow, it has been such a coffee game changer when you couldn't really go out for a coffee. I got this machine when it was 50% off, which is such a great deal for the coffee maker part + the milk frother! I hope it goes on sale again! It does come with a sampler of Nespresso pods, which is great to try some before you buy a box. I am been making afternoon lattes, iced coffees, and tried Carly's Espress-Fro (this is so good, you must try!!).

Yahtzee nights //  For the past few weeks, we have been having weekly virtual Yahtzee game nights. We have been using Google Meet (because its free with unlimited time!) to play Yahtzee. It is the best/easiest game to have a virtual game night, and almost everyone has Yahtzee! I think A LOT of people are realizing this trusty quarantine activity, and I could not find a complete game set to link, so I link score sheets if you want to play and already have a set of 5 dice!

Sephora Glow Peel Pads // These were a Sephora Sale buy. I had heard some good things about them, and wanted to try! They have glycolic acid, and exfoliate and smooth skin. I have been using it in the morning before the rest of my day time skin care, and they feel so refreshing on the skin, and can help wake you up a bit. I love how they are from the Sephora Collection, they are clean beauty, AND are very affordable compared to other peel pads. I have noticed a difference in my skin texture, for sure. I will definitely be re-purchasing these.

Amazon Sun Hat //  I am still in central PA with my aunt and uncle, and really do not have much of my things or clothes. It is getting summery, which makes me SO happy, but my sun hat is not with me...so I found this hat on Amazon, the price was right, and I ordered it. Its been great for the sunny days. It came a little wrinkled and bent, but I streamed it a little, and it worked like a charm. Do not forget your sun protection as the weather warms up!! A hat + SPF is always best!

DuoLingo: I finally restarted my DuoLingo. I first downloaded the app back in September 2019, and had a great streak with doing daily lessons until my first block of exams came and I stopped and never started again...After starting learning French, again, and adding a Spanish review, I realized how well this app works because I retained more French that I thought I did. I did not have to start at square one after months and months off from learning! I do it everyday, and almost have a 50 day streak going!

As always,

  1. That Nespresso has been on my wish list for a while. Such a good tool-especially with not going to coffee shops!

Coastal Grandmother Aesthetic

Who else has been loving the  Coastal Grandmother aesthetic trend on TikTok? I've been very engrossed in this trend that is actually not at all trendy and a nod to classic style, which I LOVE. Classic summer style is one of my favorite facets of classic style- linen dresses and pants, sun hats, walks on the beach and lots of rosΓ©. This is literally me. And I consider myself a grandmillennial, so coastal grandmother is not too far off. Some may call it coast-grand-millennial ;) ALSO, a couple of weeks ago the Today Show did a segment on the trend, and featured a clip from one of my coastal gran TikToks! These are things you need to create your own coastal grandmother aesthetic, the coastal grandmother starter kit if you will. You probably have most of these things in your closet if you are a fellow classic style lover, like myself. So lets all live our lives as if we lived in a Nancy Meyers movie, and have the best coastal grandmother girl summer. Coast Grandmother Essentials: - B

What I Packed for Rhode Island

I am SO excited to be back on the East Coast for a bit. Today, we are driving to Rhode Island to spend the long weekend and celebrate my cousin's 30th birthday (thirty, flirting and thriving, right?!). I have only been to Rhode Island on one other occasion, and that was a marching band trip where we marched in the oldest Fourth of July celebration in the country. Thinking back on that, it was a very surreal experience that I am grateful for, and I am even more excited to get to go back to that state and explore as an adult. As soon as I knew we would be going to Rhode Island, I thought about the outfits for the trip. It invoked a sense of the classic East Coast prep style that I already love so much, and so I took that as my packing inspiration! The Kiel James Patrick store/brand is based out of Newport, RI, so I will definitely be visiting and I had to leave room in my suitcase for some new KJP pieces. I haven't had to pack for travel in awhile, so I decided to take a new ap

Favorite Spots: St. Paul, MN

I have been thinking about Minnesota lately, and felt like reminiscing on some of my favorite spots in St. Paul, MN. Most people hear a city in Minnesota, and think Minneapolis. Although I love the treasures of Minneapolis, I went to college in St. Paul (Roll Toms πŸ˜ŠπŸ’œ), and lived there for 6 years, so it has a special place in my heart. First off, lets get familiar with this city. St. Paul is the state capitol of MN!! It is NOT Minneapolis as so many people think! It is the older of the Twin Cities, and I think has more charm. Its divided into neighborhoods like any other city, and some of the best spots, are little neighborhood gems. The Twin Cities are both equally "Foodie" places, and we love some craft breweries/distilleries, and good eats!! Grandview Theatre pictured above! Used to walk there during college just to get popcorn! Merriam Park University of St. Thomas - my alma matter! (I surprisingly do not have any good pics of UST..) Izzie's Ice Cre
