A Few Recent Reads

Hi! First, I want to point out the Book List Page I created! Every time I finish a book I enjoyed, I will be adding it to this list. I hope it makes it easier for you to find a good book this way than scrolling back trying to find all of my book blog posts 😊. Now, onto some recent reads. From my last reading post, I have only finished a handful of books, and started a couple of new ones. I have really enjoyed everything that I have read, and have yet to find a dud. I also got several new books that I am excited to read and share as I finish them. 1. Such a Fun Age  // I know they is some controversy over this book, but I wanted to read it anyway. I ended up enjoying this story knowing that I will never know and understand what the main character has gone through. I felt it was another interesting perspective of race and racism in a contemporary setting. I loved this read, and recommend that you check it out for yourself! 2. They Wish They Were Us  // This book was exactly wh...

Sweater Weather Edit

Happy Sweater Weather Season! I am always on the hunt for cozy sweaters this time of year, but I struggle to find them. I cannot wear wool, cashmere or any sweater material like that because I am allergic/my skin is verrry sensitive to it. It is so hard to find just cotton based sweaters in winter in fall!! I scrolled through many websites to find some of the best sweaters, that I CAN wear, out there! If you also have a wool allergy or sensitivity this one is for you! It is also for you if you just like a good sweater moment 😉. First, I need to shout out my favorite sweater: the Rollneck from J. Crew . I have it in sooo many colors, and wear them often! It is a good closet staple, in my opinion, as it is a classic shape! I also need to shout out the Sweater Blazer from J. Crew Factory- this one is cotton while the normal J. Crew one is not! Another closet classic for me! Left: Sweater Blazer  |   Right: Rollneck Sweater Sweater Weather Edit: JavaScript is currently disabled...

My Favorite Gluten Free Fall Recipes

Happy Monday!  Yesterday, while baking a pie, I thought about all the yummy recipes I like to make in the fall. If it is warm, feels cozy or has seasonal ingredients, I love it! Everything I am sharing is a gluten free recipe (or can be easily made gluten free) because some of you may know that I have Celiac Disease.  *all photos via original recipes* 1. Gluten Free Apple Pie with Crumble Topping  // This is soooo good! I buy a premade GF base crust instead of making one and it is a lot easier. I also control how much sugar I add to the apples and topping, and always add less than what the recipes says. But, always add extra cinnamon! 2. Detox Moroccan Lentil Stew  // This quickly became a staple quarantine recipe in March, but am excited to make it again as the temps cool down. I love that it is hearty and healthy with lots of veggies and plant based protein. 3. Vegan Pumpkin Soup  // I made this so many times last fall, and it is so easy! It is very tas...

Fall Bucket List

It is *almost* the first day of fall, and while I want to hang on to summer a bit longer, a new season means a new bucket list! I am excited for this one because I already know I will be crossing things off in a few weeks! I'm making a cute graphic for this too, so you will be able to save it and always look back at it. I hope to have the graphic done by Monday, and I will be sure to update this post with it, so stay tuned! (I thought of the graphic just has I was hitting publish, so that is why its not up now!) Fall Bucket List: 1. Apple Picking // Did you even fall if you didn't go apple picking?! 2. Pumpkin Patch // I have not picked out pumpkins in years, and want to feel like a kid again. Plus, you can roast the pumpkin seeds after carving! YUM! 3. Leaf Peeping // Fall colors are so beautiful, and this is my favorite part of the season! 4. Cozy Movie Night // I really want to watch You've Got Mail cozied up with snacks and a good red wine. 5. Bake Apple Pie (or Crisp...

Fall Wishlist

Oh wow, did it get very chilly overnight here in Minnesota. As much as I want summer to hang around for a bit longer, I am too cold to think about a sundress and sandals, haha. I do think we will have a hint of some more warm weather on the horizon, which makes me happy.   I really feel like I do not need much for fall, but that is why it is called a wishlist! I definitely would like to have and cozy into the number one on this list! What is on your fall wishlist?  Chappy Wrap  Blanket I have been lusting after these blankets for a while now, and I hear so many good things about these blankets! They look so cozy and warm, and those are things I love, haha. I feel like I have several blankets that need to be retired because I am constantly wrapped in a blanket, and a Chappy Wrap seems like the best replacement for them!! I am always cold, and would love to snuggle in a Chappy Wrap! (I love this Navy Striped one too!) Camel Dudley Stephens Boatneck Fleece I have...

What I'm Loving no. 19

I celebrated my 26th birthday in August! Bye, bye August. You will be missed! I know so many people that are ready for fall, but I just can't imagine going into the colder months, and not be able to enjoy the outdoors. Doing things outside is the only way you can really get out and about these days, so going into fall and winter feels more like a punishment. Summer felt somewhat like a peak into normalcy, so I am not wishing that away in trade of cooler months and less chance to be outdoors! With that said, I am excited from some fall things like pumpkin, apple picking and all the pretty fall colors. I also haven't had a blog post in a while because of some business with med school apps and such. I also did an IGTV with Kelly where we chatted about being premed/grad school/med school apps, so go to Instagram, and check it out! Now that my ode to summer is done (thanks for coming to my TedTalk 😂), lets get into my favorites from the month of August. 1.   Drunk Elephant TLC ...
