A Few Recent Reads

Hi! First, I want to point out the Book List Page I created! Every time I finish a book I enjoyed, I will be adding it to this list. I hope it makes it easier for you to find a good book this way than scrolling back trying to find all of my book blog posts 😊.

Now, onto some recent reads. From my last reading post, I have only finished a handful of books, and started a couple of new ones. I have really enjoyed everything that I have read, and have yet to find a dud. I also got several new books that I am excited to read and share as I finish them.

1. Such a Fun Age // I know they is some controversy over this book, but I wanted to read it anyway. I ended up enjoying this story knowing that I will never know and understand what the main character has gone through. I felt it was another interesting perspective of race and racism in a contemporary setting. I loved this read, and recommend that you check it out for yourself!

2. They Wish They Were Us // This book was exactly what I wanted it to be, and the little description sums it up to a tee. I'd say it is somewhat of a thriller, but something you can read before bed without being too freaked out to go to sleep, ahah. If you need just a fun, indulgent read, then read this one! 

3. Sex and Vanity // This is from the Author of the Crazy Rich Asian series, and it definitely delivered for me. It was such a great escape, and has that distinctive Kevin Kwan writing style. I loved that it was partly set in NYC and the Hamptons because I could imagine things well, and it made me miss my favorite places. A few people told me that they did not like it because it was not similar to CRA, but I loved it for this reason! I think it was smart of the author to keep his writing style while separating himself from his hit trilogy! Overall, I loved this book and highly recommend!!

Currently Reading:

Alexander Hamilton -This one is a beast, and will take me awhile to get through, but my nerdy self is enjoying this so far!

American Royals -Ok, so I am not currently reading this, but am going to start it in the next couple of days!

Up Next:

A City Baker's Guide to Country Living -Funny story about this one: I bought it a couple of springs ago, and did not read it right away because it no longer felt like cozy season...Fast forward through grad school where I didn't have much reading time to now, and I plan to take it on a fall road trip!
