Flannel for Fall

Dress  |  Boots  |  Similar Sunglasses

Last weekend, I had some fall fun, and crossed quite a few things off of my Fall Bucket List! We went to a farm in New Jersey that had various activities, treats and of course, pumpkins! Everyone was wearing a mask, and we only took ours off when absolutely no one was around, like during the corn maze. How adorable is the pumpkin house at the farm?! Definitely made for a photo op, but it was cute and I was here for it, haha.

It was a beautiful October day, and I had to wear my favorite fall dress. It is from Kiel James Patrick, and has been a staple in my cool weather wardrobe for a couple of years now. I love the cozy, quality flannel and supporting a small business where everything is made in the US! I paired it with my Bean Boots for an easy fall outfit. I did bring tights along, but did not need them because the sun was quite warm.

I love that this is a plaid that does not look too Christmas-y, and you can wear it starting in the fall. I have definitely worn it for holidays before, but you are not limited to wearing it in the holiday season! I have styled it with riding boots, wellies, and flats and it looks good with everything. I think it would be very cute to throw a chunky, knitted cardigan over it for a different look. KJP has some new flannels that I have my eye on too! Happy October, friends 😋.

As always,

A Thanksgiving Look

Turtleneck  |   Skirt  |   Tights  |   Boots Thanksgiving is only one week away! I am excited to go home, and spend time with my family and friends. This is a holiday that is HARD to dress for. On one hand, you want to wear joggers and a big sweater because of all of the yummy food and treats. On the other hand, you want to dress up, or slightly dress up while still feeling comfy. Hence, the big dressing dilemma: how to create the right look for your kind of holiday? I like to dress it up a little , without wearing a cocktail outfit or gown, haha. I created this look for a dressy, casual look. It is an easy outfit to put together, and I bet you have some similar pieces in your closet! A turtleneck, plaid skirt and tights is such a classic fall look that is also great for this holiday. It is kind of an easy dressing equation too because it is so easy to mix and match what you have in your closet, or buy one new piece that you know will go with an...

Coastal Grandmother Aesthetic

Who else has been loving the  Coastal Grandmother aesthetic trend on TikTok? I've been very engrossed in this trend that is actually not at all trendy and a nod to classic style, which I LOVE. Classic summer style is one of my favorite facets of classic style- linen dresses and pants, sun hats, walks on the beach and lots of rosé. This is literally me. And I consider myself a grandmillennial, so coastal grandmother is not too far off. Some may call it coast-grand-millennial ;) ALSO, a couple of weeks ago the Today Show did a segment on the trend, and featured a clip from one of my coastal gran TikToks! These are things you need to create your own coastal grandmother aesthetic, the coastal grandmother starter kit if you will. You probably have most of these things in your closet if you are a fellow classic style lover, like myself. So lets all live our lives as if we lived in a Nancy Meyers movie, and have the best coastal grandmother girl summer. Coast Grandmother Essentials...

What I Packed for Rhode Island

I am SO excited to be back on the East Coast for a bit. Today, we are driving to Rhode Island to spend the long weekend and celebrate my cousin's 30th birthday (thirty, flirting and thriving, right?!). I have only been to Rhode Island on one other occasion, and that was a marching band trip where we marched in the oldest Fourth of July celebration in the country. Thinking back on that, it was a very surreal experience that I am grateful for, and I am even more excited to get to go back to that state and explore as an adult. As soon as I knew we would be going to Rhode Island, I thought about the outfits for the trip. It invoked a sense of the classic East Coast prep style that I already love so much, and so I took that as my packing inspiration! The Kiel James Patrick store/brand is based out of Newport, RI, so I will definitely be visiting and I had to leave room in my suitcase for some new KJP pieces. I haven't had to pack for travel in awhile, so I decided to take a new ap...
