My Wardrobe Staple: Dudley Stephens Fleece

I purchased my first Dudley Stephens Fleece in the winter of 2019. I am pretty sure I wore it almost every day for the rest of winter, and into the spring! Since then, I have gathered quite the collection because they are *that* good. I also love that the company is founded and owned by women, and all of their fleece are made sustainably from recycled water bottles. They are also made right in New York.

I have had some questions about the different DS Styles and fleece types, so today, I am highlighting these! I really believe that you can wear them with anything and they will look stylish while being the coziest thing you will ever wear. This is NOT sponsored, by the way...but I wish it was because I love love their product and hopefully someday can work with this amazing, women founded brand! This month marks 5 years of this amazing business too!

And, before we get started, here is a link to $25 off your first fleece!!

Lets start with the different fleece types. The Vello fleece is the original fleece type. I would describe this as the standard, thick, soft, fleece. It is amazing, and is the reason I wore my first fleece nearly every day, haha. The Terry fleece is a newer fleece from DS. This one is the soft fleece on the inside, and a terry/towel like material on the outside. It is not as thick of fleece as the Vello, but still cozy. I like the Terry for warmer weather, and the Vello for cooler weather, though I wear both year round. I have also found that the Terry material tends to wear a bit better over time and is easier to get stains out of light colors.

Dudley Stephens recently launched a Fit Guide, so you can find the size that fits you best! For reference, I usually wear a small on top, and in DS Fleece wear a small or medium- I have a long torso, so the medium in the Park Slope or Boatneck style gives me some extra length! With each individual piece, I will give my sizing and styling specifics!

Park Slope Vello Fleece - (I also have this color!)

This is my OG fleece that I have had for 2 years. My true size is a small, but I am wearing a medium for extra length in the torso. I love pairing this with a skirt or over a dress. It just looks so chic, and does not make an outfit too casual. I also wear it with leggings (le duh!), and love to add a button-up shirt underneath so the cuffs and bottom stick out.

Park Slope Terry Fleece

Again, my true size is a small, but wearing a medium here. I do have a size small in a different color o this one, and like that it is fitted, but wish it was a tad longer in the torso! Anyway, this terry fleece beauty was a quarantine impulse buy, and I am so glad I did that. I find myself reaching for this off white color sooo often. It was a summer hero because it was good for cooler summer nights and cozy nights in the air conditioning.

Cobble Hill Vello Fleece

I am wearing a medium in this longer, tunic style fleece. I think I could go with small, but I do have a butt, so the small might be a little tight around my hips. This is another quarantine purchase, and it is so good. I did not wear it as much when I first got it in May, but now that there is a chill in the air, its been a favorite. I have only wore this one with leggings and white jeans so far, but I am sure it would be super cute with normal jeans and flats! This is the periwinkle color and it is not in stock right now because I think it is a seasonal color. I would really love it in black (or navy) because it would look so cute over some leopard pants for fall! And, it has pockets!!!!

Brighton Boat Neck Vello Fleece

Ah, the Boatneck. So good for styling up, and good if you do not like the high neck of the turtlenecks. This neckline is so flattering. I honestly love that I do not have to worry about smudging make up in it like I do when I wear a turtleneck, ahah. I am wearing the medium, but think I will get a small for my next Boatneck. It seems to run a bit more boxy than the other turtlenecks/tops, in my opinion.

Highland High-low Terry Fleece -( The Ice Blue color is not currently on their website for tops, but they recently launched the Jogger in Ice Blue!) I think this was my second DS purchase, and first ever Terry fleece. I think this is definitely the most casual piece from Dudley Stephens, and I do not dress it up much, but it has been a good piece overall. When we could still go to work out classes, I would wear this over my sports bra and leggings to pilates. It was perfect for warming up, and then putting back on when class was done to stay warm. I have been recently wearing it on my daily walks as the weather has become chilly. I have the medium, but small would be a better size in this style for me!

Have I convinced you that you need a fleece?? Especially because we are still in quarantine, and it is the ultimate cozy thing as we head into winter! Again, here is the link for $25 off your first fleece!

As always,

Coastal Grandmother Aesthetic

Who else has been loving the  Coastal Grandmother aesthetic trend on TikTok? I've been very engrossed in this trend that is actually not at all trendy and a nod to classic style, which I LOVE. Classic summer style is one of my favorite facets of classic style- linen dresses and pants, sun hats, walks on the beach and lots of rosΓ©. This is literally me. And I consider myself a grandmillennial, so coastal grandmother is not too far off. Some may call it coast-grand-millennial ;) ALSO, a couple of weeks ago the Today Show did a segment on the trend, and featured a clip from one of my coastal gran TikToks! These are things you need to create your own coastal grandmother aesthetic, the coastal grandmother starter kit if you will. You probably have most of these things in your closet if you are a fellow classic style lover, like myself. So lets all live our lives as if we lived in a Nancy Meyers movie, and have the best coastal grandmother girl summer. Coast Grandmother Essentials: - B

What I Packed for Rhode Island

I am SO excited to be back on the East Coast for a bit. Today, we are driving to Rhode Island to spend the long weekend and celebrate my cousin's 30th birthday (thirty, flirting and thriving, right?!). I have only been to Rhode Island on one other occasion, and that was a marching band trip where we marched in the oldest Fourth of July celebration in the country. Thinking back on that, it was a very surreal experience that I am grateful for, and I am even more excited to get to go back to that state and explore as an adult. As soon as I knew we would be going to Rhode Island, I thought about the outfits for the trip. It invoked a sense of the classic East Coast prep style that I already love so much, and so I took that as my packing inspiration! The Kiel James Patrick store/brand is based out of Newport, RI, so I will definitely be visiting and I had to leave room in my suitcase for some new KJP pieces. I haven't had to pack for travel in awhile, so I decided to take a new ap

Favorite Spots: St. Paul, MN

I have been thinking about Minnesota lately, and felt like reminiscing on some of my favorite spots in St. Paul, MN. Most people hear a city in Minnesota, and think Minneapolis. Although I love the treasures of Minneapolis, I went to college in St. Paul (Roll Toms πŸ˜ŠπŸ’œ), and lived there for 6 years, so it has a special place in my heart. First off, lets get familiar with this city. St. Paul is the state capitol of MN!! It is NOT Minneapolis as so many people think! It is the older of the Twin Cities, and I think has more charm. Its divided into neighborhoods like any other city, and some of the best spots, are little neighborhood gems. The Twin Cities are both equally "Foodie" places, and we love some craft breweries/distilleries, and good eats!! Grandview Theatre pictured above! Used to walk there during college just to get popcorn! Merriam Park University of St. Thomas - my alma matter! (I surprisingly do not have any good pics of UST..) Izzie's Ice Cre
