What I'm Loving no. 22: My 2020 Favorites!

I am not sure why, but my 2019 favorite things post has had a lot of views these last couple of months (like it is slightly blowing up?!)! But I am back with my favorite things of the year, 2020 edition, plus some of my favorite moments and blog posts of this past year. It has been a ride this year, but I am so incredibly grateful for my family and friends this year, and they are definitely at the top of the favorites list 😊. 2020 Favorites: 1. Glossier Lash Slick - If you have not tried Glossier products yet, get on it because they live up to the hype! This mascara is incredible, I love how it lengthens and fills your lashes. The look it gives lashes is also one that says I am wearing make-up, but it does look that natural. I also love the Boy Brow product.  2. Favorite Books: The Vanishing Half + The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo - These were my top two reads of the year. They are both kind of historical fiction. I was really sucked in by both stories, and thought the...

What to Gift Yourself This Year

Oh my goodness, it is Christmas Eve Eve! I hope you guys are like me, and enjoy giving a gift to yourself.  It could be a holiday gift to yourself or just a end of the year, you survived another one gift to yourself. I love picking something that I would normally not get for myself on a day-to-day basis, an investment piece if you will. Also, if you still need some last minute holiday outfit inspo- I love this outfit! (much of it is on sale, and most J. Crew stores are offering curbside pick up!) Plaid Pants  |   Ruffle-neck Sweater  |   Flats (use code SARAHFLINT-BALIBBYM for $50 off your first pair!) Here are a few ideas of what to gift to yourself this holiday season. After all, the 12 Days of Christmas technically start on Christmas day, so the holiday is extended! 1. Sarah Flint shoes Something I have learned as I have come into my mid-20's, is to invest in your feet. Quality over quantity of shoes is important, enter Sarah Flint. I was gifted thi...

Really Late Holiday Cards

It is Christmas week! It kind of feels like a treat that the holiday is on a Friday, and you can actually make a long weekend out of it. That is our plan! Another part of our plan is deciding last minute that we want to do a holiday card. We took photos of just me and the puppy yesterday, and they are so cute that I had to share, especially if you also need some last minute inspiration for holiday cards, outfits, cute puppies...😊. Similar Dress | White Shirt | Similar Shoes  (use code SARAHFLINT-BALIBBYM for $50 off!)  I wore this green plaid dress from Draper James , which is sadly sold out. I actually got it last year for Christmas, but didn't get a chance to wear it until this holiday season! Here is the same dress but in a different plaid , but just as adorable! I wore this ruffle collared white shirt underneath because it was too chilly for bare arms. This one might me my favorite. We took these photos at a historical home in MN. I always love that they decorat...

Festive Treats

Plaid shirt |   Leggings | Boots | Headband Over the weekend, we had our first cookie making venture of the season! One of my favorite types of Christmas cookies is spritz cookies- it is the one you use with the cookie press to make really cute shapes. I searched Pinterest for a gluten free spritz recipe, and found this super simple one from Thriving Gluten Free . I always try to find the gluten free recipes that do not have all sorts of crazy additive ingredients because it can be hard to find those, and they can be spendy. This one is literally just gf flour, sugar, butter and egg! And my goodness are they delicious, and smelled amazing while they baked. We baked some cookies, listened to holiday tunes, and out of nowhere, it started to snow!! It felt like the perfect cozy vibe for what turned into a snowy afternoon.   Here's the recipe from Thriving Gluten Free:   my one note is that I used the 1-to-1 gluten free flour blend from Bob's Red Mill! We also made...

Last Minute Gift Ideas

It is already half way through December, and the holidays are in full swing! I don't know about you guys, but I always seem to plan out gifts well, and then find myself last minute shopping, hah. For my final gift guide, I have come up with some last minute gift ideas! I included things that ship fast like Amazon and Shopbob. I also have a list of some other ideas for easy, meaningful gifts! (If I have any more ideas for my list, I will add them and update the post!) LAST MINUTE GIFT IDEAS: SWEATER SHAVER | HYGGE BOOK | BLANKET | LYCETTE DESIGNS GIFTCARD SARAH FLINT SHOES BALA BANGLES | GINGER JAR CANDLE | PAJAMAS COOKBOOK | BIG GINGER JAR | SMALL GINGER JAR SWEATER SHAVER : I definitely asked for one of these for Christmas, haha. But I feel like it is the gift that could be the most random, thoughtful thing. We all have that one favorite sweater that is starting to pill! HYGGE BOOK : A social distance winter means you need to have a survival plan. This book on the Scandin...

Tied with Tartan

Happy Monday, friends! It is December, and that means you can catch me wearing plaid about every day. I wore this dress the other week, and have showed it on my Instagram, but it is still on sale, so I thought this outfit needed its own post! Dress | Shoes c/o (use libby10 for 10% off at Margaux ) | Headband J. Crew always puts out some of the best holiday pieces, in my opinion. I love all the of the plaids because they just feel so classic and timeless, and I know I will be able to wear them for forever. This new dress caught my eye this year: it is plaid, a shirt dress, AND has ruffles! I was instantly sold, and even more so during their holiday sales. And, it is still on sale- its 50% off with an extra 20% off with code FESTIVE! I am wearing a size small, and it is not too short on me. I do think, as with all J. Crew, that it runs a tad big, so you could definitely size down (I miraculously could have fit into a xs). It doesn't button all the way down, which I think is a ...

Holiday Bucket List

I think I just started a new series of seasonal bucket lists! I always have a summer one, but this year I made a fall bucket list, and now I have a holiday bucket list! (Not sure what would be a spring bucket list though, haha.) If you are new here (hi, welcome!), I LOVE the holidays. For this bucket list, and like all of mine for 2020, I picked things that are Covid/social distancing friendly. I really wanted to add ice skating and a Christmas market to this list, but I personally think that it could be hard to distance from others. This year, I think we should embrace a cozy holiday season at home! HOLIDAY BUCKET LIST: 1. Look at Lights - My most favorite thing to do is drive around, and look at all the pretty lights. 2. Decorate the Tree - Blasting some Christmas music, and decorating the tree always brings joy! 3. Bake and Decorate Sugar Cookies - I want to find and perfect a gluten free sugar cookie recipe this year! 4. Holiday Cheeseboard - Brie with homemade cranberry ...

Stocking Stuffers

I hope everyone had a nice Turkey Day. Mine was just my family, and it was actually so nice to spend the holiday with a group of 3 so we could actually chat and relax, and not have to worry about entertaining a big group. BUT, it is finally dedicated Christmas/holiday time, and it makes me heart so warm (yes that is cheesy, but it is how I feel). Does anyone else LOVE stockings and stocking stuffers as much as I do?? My mom is always the one to get things for the stockings, and it is the first thing we do on Christmas morning. I asked you guys on Instagram what your favorite kinds of stocking stuffers are, and I made sure to include here because I love them too! One thing I want to add is a donation to a charity in the person's name. I thought that was the kindest stuffer I have ever heard, and really want to do that this year. I have a few charities/non-profits that are near to me, but what are yours? GINGER JAR POUCH | HAIR BOW | MONOGRAMMED POUCH | PHONECASE BOW NOTEPAD | ...
