Spring Bucket List

I realize it is kind of late into the Spring season, but I have my spring bucket list today! I have reasons for the timing: 1. Minnesota is a late bloomer when it comes to spring, which brings me to 2. It is hard to enjoy the fun outdoor spring things when it is still 45 degrees for most of March, April and May! Yes, we have had a few sporadic 70+ degree days that we have totally taken advantage of, but for the most part it is still pretty cool, and things did not start blooming until a week and a half ago. Therefore, we have the spring bucket list starting in mid-May! And summer doesn't start until June 20, so we have time!

SPRING BUCKET LIST:

1. Outdoor Brunch! - I do not know what it is this season, but I have had going to brunch on the brain. Patios/outdoor dining have been open for a bit, and I am really hoping for a warm morning to go out for brunch. What is your favorite thing to order for brunch? I am a fan of really anything, but if there is like parmesan truffle fries on the menu, I want that with a glass of champagne, please!

2. Visit the Arboretum - Minnesota has this beautiful Landscape Arboretum with miles of walking paths to various gardens that have different plants and flowers. It is beautiful there, and I have not been in a long, long time, like over 10 years..I feel like it is time to go again, haha. I am sure wherever you live has something similar like gardens, botanical gardens, a conservatory or something. Feels perfectly spring!

3. Long Walks Outside - I tried to maintain daily outdoor walks through the winter, but they were/are pretty short because of the weather. Now that it is getting nice again, I want to get back into my long 10000+ step walks. The pandemic definitely taught me that one of my favorite forms of exercise is a long, slightly brisk walk. Can't wait to get back to these!

4. Plant a Garden - We already started to plant some flowers and plants, so that it exciting! I do not think we will get to planting a big vegetable and berry garden this year because we moved into the house in the winter and the yard needs some work. I hope we will have some potted plants like tomatoes, peppers and maybe blueberries to keep on the patio!

5. Have coffee by the lake. - I have two favorite lakeside towns near me that both have local coffee shops, and lakeside views. I will definitely be taking my dog for a morning walk by the lake followed by enjoying our coffee by the water. It is my favorite thing to do a weekend morning during the spring and summer.

6. Have a Picnic - At the end of last summer, I had the most gorgeous cheese board picnic with a friend, and I want to do that this spring while everything is still in bloom! We have this favorite spot on the lake (of course) that we love because its nestled out of the way but faces the sun set. Hoping for a warmer night to do this soon!

7. Rooftop Cocktails - There are some fun rooftops in the Twin Cities, who knew! I have not had a fun rooftop cocktail night in a long time, and am itching for one, obviously at sun set, haha. The evening spring light is always so beautiful!

8. Try a restaurant I have never been to. - I didn't live away from Minnesota for long, but I feel like so many new things opened up between moving in 2018 and moving back this winter. My friends always say we need to take you to xyz place, so I am making them do it this spring!!

I kept this list somewhat short to be able to fit everything in, in the next month. I do feel like I covered some nice, springy things to do this season! What is on your spring bucket list? I am always looking for more inspiration.

As always,

Coastal Grandmother Aesthetic

Who else has been loving the  Coastal Grandmother aesthetic trend on TikTok? I've been very engrossed in this trend that is actually not at all trendy and a nod to classic style, which I LOVE. Classic summer style is one of my favorite facets of classic style- linen dresses and pants, sun hats, walks on the beach and lots of rosΓ©. This is literally me. And I consider myself a grandmillennial, so coastal grandmother is not too far off. Some may call it coast-grand-millennial ;) ALSO, a couple of weeks ago the Today Show did a segment on the trend, and featured a clip from one of my coastal gran TikToks! These are things you need to create your own coastal grandmother aesthetic, the coastal grandmother starter kit if you will. You probably have most of these things in your closet if you are a fellow classic style lover, like myself. So lets all live our lives as if we lived in a Nancy Meyers movie, and have the best coastal grandmother girl summer. Coast Grandmother Essentials: - B

What I Packed for Rhode Island

I am SO excited to be back on the East Coast for a bit. Today, we are driving to Rhode Island to spend the long weekend and celebrate my cousin's 30th birthday (thirty, flirting and thriving, right?!). I have only been to Rhode Island on one other occasion, and that was a marching band trip where we marched in the oldest Fourth of July celebration in the country. Thinking back on that, it was a very surreal experience that I am grateful for, and I am even more excited to get to go back to that state and explore as an adult. As soon as I knew we would be going to Rhode Island, I thought about the outfits for the trip. It invoked a sense of the classic East Coast prep style that I already love so much, and so I took that as my packing inspiration! The Kiel James Patrick store/brand is based out of Newport, RI, so I will definitely be visiting and I had to leave room in my suitcase for some new KJP pieces. I haven't had to pack for travel in awhile, so I decided to take a new ap

Favorite Spots: St. Paul, MN

I have been thinking about Minnesota lately, and felt like reminiscing on some of my favorite spots in St. Paul, MN. Most people hear a city in Minnesota, and think Minneapolis. Although I love the treasures of Minneapolis, I went to college in St. Paul (Roll Toms πŸ˜ŠπŸ’œ), and lived there for 6 years, so it has a special place in my heart. First off, lets get familiar with this city. St. Paul is the state capitol of MN!! It is NOT Minneapolis as so many people think! It is the older of the Twin Cities, and I think has more charm. Its divided into neighborhoods like any other city, and some of the best spots, are little neighborhood gems. The Twin Cities are both equally "Foodie" places, and we love some craft breweries/distilleries, and good eats!! Grandview Theatre pictured above! Used to walk there during college just to get popcorn! Merriam Park University of St. Thomas - my alma matter! (I surprisingly do not have any good pics of UST..) Izzie's Ice Cre
