Renter Friendly Decor Ideas

I have had so much putting together my apartment over the past almost year. It has been the first time that something is truly my space and I could decorate how ever I wanted to. Obviously, there are a lot of things you cannot change about a rental, but there is things that you can add and tweak to make a space that reflects your style. I say the majority of apartments do not allow you to paint (although I've seen some that do allow it), so that means getting creative with putting your personality in you tiny home.

My favorite area is definitely my dining area. It came together perfectly after I found these cane back chairs on Facebook Marketplace. Every element in the space just works so well together, and love being  in it. I knew I would be home a lot studying when I started medical school, so I wanted to create a space that I loved, felt comfortable and wanted to be in :)

Peel + Stick Removable Wall Paper - I LOVE that I did this to a wall in my apartment. It really made the space feel like mine and covered up the generic off white apartment wall. It can really transform a space! My tip is to try a test piece of the wallpaper first to be sure it removes easily, I didn't have a problem with mine! This is the wallpaper I have.

Removable Backsplash - I did not do this in my apartment, but I have seen others do it and it looks incredible. It really elevates a kitchen or bathroom and feels like it adds a personal touch.

Wall Panels - These are something I recently came across. I like the idea of adding these to a wall, and I bet they could be put up with command strips. You can also paint them so theres a fun contrast. I envision using these panels on a wall to make a perfectly space and framed gallery wall. Stay tuned as I might try to order and paint some and make my own paneled wall!

Mantel - You do not need to have a fire place to have a mantle. It can easily be decorated with candles, art and your other favorite pieces. They can be on the pricier side if you are looking online, but I have seen them at vintage stores, antique stores and consignment stores, so it could be fun to check out your local one!

Bed Headboard - I have yet to find a headboard that I love thats somewhat close to being in decent price range, aha. But having one seems like it will really tie you bedroom space together. I'm just not a big fan of having your bed just up against the wall without a headboard, but that is exactly what my set up is hahah. I love these because you can pick a fabric to upholster.

Framed Wallpaper - If you are unsure about doing a wall in removable wallpaper, you could frame long sheets of wall paper and create big wallpaper panels. This would still give great wall coverage and look like high end art. It could even be more cost effective than getting enough wallpaper to cover a whole wall!

Stay tuned because I am planning to share a big post with all/most details from my apartment!

As always,

Coastal Grandmother Aesthetic

Who else has been loving the  Coastal Grandmother aesthetic trend on TikTok? I've been very engrossed in this trend that is actually not at all trendy and a nod to classic style, which I LOVE. Classic summer style is one of my favorite facets of classic style- linen dresses and pants, sun hats, walks on the beach and lots of rosé. This is literally me. And I consider myself a grandmillennial, so coastal grandmother is not too far off. Some may call it coast-grand-millennial ;) ALSO, a couple of weeks ago the Today Show did a segment on the trend, and featured a clip from one of my coastal gran TikToks! These are things you need to create your own coastal grandmother aesthetic, the coastal grandmother starter kit if you will. You probably have most of these things in your closet if you are a fellow classic style lover, like myself. So lets all live our lives as if we lived in a Nancy Meyers movie, and have the best coastal grandmother girl summer. Coast Grandmother Essentials: - B

What I Packed for Rhode Island

I am SO excited to be back on the East Coast for a bit. Today, we are driving to Rhode Island to spend the long weekend and celebrate my cousin's 30th birthday (thirty, flirting and thriving, right?!). I have only been to Rhode Island on one other occasion, and that was a marching band trip where we marched in the oldest Fourth of July celebration in the country. Thinking back on that, it was a very surreal experience that I am grateful for, and I am even more excited to get to go back to that state and explore as an adult. As soon as I knew we would be going to Rhode Island, I thought about the outfits for the trip. It invoked a sense of the classic East Coast prep style that I already love so much, and so I took that as my packing inspiration! The Kiel James Patrick store/brand is based out of Newport, RI, so I will definitely be visiting and I had to leave room in my suitcase for some new KJP pieces. I haven't had to pack for travel in awhile, so I decided to take a new ap

New Summer KJP (+ they're having a sale!!)

So today, I got the happiest email from Kiel James Patrick , featuring some super cute new pieces, and that they have a 4th of July sale!! The sale is 20% off any thing with the code America . I would definitely take advantage of this! Here are my favorite new things from KJP. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!! Striped shirt dress // I had all the feels when I saw this dress. First, it is striped AND a shirt dress! Second, it is actually named "Bristol Parade." That is the oldest 4th of July Parade in the country, and I had the privilege of marching in it during my high school marching band trip to New England in 2010 (omg that was 9 years ago?!?). That day it was about 110 degrees, and we wore all black uniforms....if you are familiar with the parade, it is a LONG LONG LONG route, and I somehow, barely survived. So, I think I need this dress for (just about) surviving that day, ahah! Flag sweater  // What a cute little flag sweater! I normally am not one
