What I'm Loving no. 18

Happy Friday! I realized that I have not had a post all week because I have been occupied with secondary applications for medical school (yay!). It is also mid-August now (😳), and I have yet to put up my July favorites! I was going to just lump July and August into one, but it seemed odd to have summer things bleed into early fall when people are not interested in a sundress, ahah.

I first want to announce that I am a Margaux Ambassador! I also have a discount code for you to use for 10% off your first shoe order: libby10. I will do a dedicated blog post soon, but wanted to get the word and discount out there for you guys!

1. Starbucks Order // I have been obsessed with a double shot on ice with almond milk. I know I can make this with my Nespresso, but sometimes it just tastes better when someone else makes it for you, lol. I am excited for the pumpkin cream to come back this fall because that would be SO GOOD with the iced espresso.

2. Books // In July I finished Educated. Wow, was that a powerful book about a woman with an incredible story. I love the way she wrote it, and the perspective it gives you to reflect on your own life. I highly recommend this one! I am now over half way through Such a Fun Age, and love how it is another great fiction read that talks about race and racism. I will do another books I have read blog post in the next month or so, but here is my most recent one incase you missed it!

3. Kiel James Patrick Masks // I am trying to bulk up my mask collection because it is the accessory of 2020, imo. I found that KJP had masks, and was SO excited, and ordered one. It is perfect: it feels light on the face, matches many outfits, and you feel protected while feeling stylish! They have been restocking them periodically, but they tend to sell out fast so I'll a link a few more that are in stock: hydrangeas, seersucker, pink gingham. I think they'll have some really cute ones for fall + winter!

4. J. Crew Eyelet Dress //  I have been in love with this white eyelet dress. It continues to be on crazy sale making it only $30! The white seems to sell out quickly, but J. Crew has been restocking it!! It comes in 2 other colors, pink and green, which are just as gorgeous. You could definitely style this dress to transition to fall with a jean jacket and some flats (use code libby10 for 10% your first pair of Margaux shoes!) or loafers (use code libby10 for 10% your first pair of Margaux shoes!)!

5. Navy Pajama Set // If you felt how soft these were before I told you the price, you would not believe. This set is from Target, and only $25. I think they are a great dupe for the Eberjey brand of jammies, and way less expensive. I have them in a size medium for size reference (I like a roomier pajama!).

**Don't forget I have a post of Nordstrom Sale Picks for when you can shop the sale!**

In case you missed it:

As always,

Coastal Grandmother Aesthetic

Who else has been loving the  Coastal Grandmother aesthetic trend on TikTok? I've been very engrossed in this trend that is actually not at all trendy and a nod to classic style, which I LOVE. Classic summer style is one of my favorite facets of classic style- linen dresses and pants, sun hats, walks on the beach and lots of rosé. This is literally me. And I consider myself a grandmillennial, so coastal grandmother is not too far off. Some may call it coast-grand-millennial ;) ALSO, a couple of weeks ago the Today Show did a segment on the trend, and featured a clip from one of my coastal gran TikToks! These are things you need to create your own coastal grandmother aesthetic, the coastal grandmother starter kit if you will. You probably have most of these things in your closet if you are a fellow classic style lover, like myself. So lets all live our lives as if we lived in a Nancy Meyers movie, and have the best coastal grandmother girl summer. Coast Grandmother Essentials...

What I Packed for Rhode Island

I am SO excited to be back on the East Coast for a bit. Today, we are driving to Rhode Island to spend the long weekend and celebrate my cousin's 30th birthday (thirty, flirting and thriving, right?!). I have only been to Rhode Island on one other occasion, and that was a marching band trip where we marched in the oldest Fourth of July celebration in the country. Thinking back on that, it was a very surreal experience that I am grateful for, and I am even more excited to get to go back to that state and explore as an adult. As soon as I knew we would be going to Rhode Island, I thought about the outfits for the trip. It invoked a sense of the classic East Coast prep style that I already love so much, and so I took that as my packing inspiration! The Kiel James Patrick store/brand is based out of Newport, RI, so I will definitely be visiting and I had to leave room in my suitcase for some new KJP pieces. I haven't had to pack for travel in awhile, so I decided to take a new ap...

New Summer KJP (+ they're having a sale!!)

So today, I got the happiest email from Kiel James Patrick , featuring some super cute new pieces, and that they have a 4th of July sale!! The sale is 20% off any thing with the code America . I would definitely take advantage of this! Here are my favorite new things from KJP. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!! Striped shirt dress // I had all the feels when I saw this dress. First, it is striped AND a shirt dress! Second, it is actually named "Bristol Parade." That is the oldest 4th of July Parade in the country, and I had the privilege of marching in it during my high school marching band trip to New England in 2010 (omg that was 9 years ago?!?). That day it was about 110 degrees, and we wore all black uniforms....if you are familiar with the parade, it is a LONG LONG LONG route, and I somehow, barely survived. So, I think I need this dress for (just about) surviving that day, ahah! Flag sweater  // What a cute little flag sweater! I normally am not one ...
