Friday Favorites: What I'm Loving no. 29

It has been a minute since I done a favorites post. The last one I wrote was in back in January! I used to write these weekly or monthly, so I am going to try and get back to more regular favorites post. I know I say this a lot, but these kinds of blog posts are my favorite to read, so I really enjoying writing my own because there is so much to discover from each other. Happy Friday, and enjoy friends :)

WHAT I'M LOVING:

Monogrammed Straw Tote: (tote pictured above) I have been carrying this tote so often since the weather starting to turn warm. It feels like a very chic summer accessory, and I love how it can be personalized with your initials and stripes in the color combo of your choice. It is also from a small women owned business, which we LOVE to support!

White Sneakers: It took me so long to get on the Vejas white sneaker train, but I am so glad I finally impulse ordered them. I am not a sneaker girly at heart, but felt like I needed a nice pair of white sneakers that went with dresses, jeans, skirts, everything. These will be good for long distance leisure walks while still feeling put together. Sizing is TTS in my opinion: I wear a US 10 and ordered a 40 and they fit perfectly. Wearing with these low rise socks.

Ice Roller: I some how popped a few ribs while riding my peloton 6 weeks ago, and my face ice roller has been the best for icing my injured ribs. The fact that it rolls feels like a nice massage over some very angry chest wall muscles, and the ice part is good for inflammation and numbing any pain. Of course I still use it on my face, but I love that I have found the perfect other use for it, ahah. I highly recommend having an ice roller in your freezer for injuries even if you don't love to roll your face!

GF Bagels: This is so random, but I have been really into a bagel for breakfast. I am normally not a bagel girly because gluten free bagels are just not great (I have celiac). For some reason though, a bagel has been hitting the spot for brekkie. I usually get the Trader Joe's GF bagels or a GF bagel brand from Whole Foods that I am blanking on the name. If you have a kind/brand of GF bagels that you love, please share! Some of my favorite ways to eat a bagel are cream cheese with sliced tomatoes on top, an avocado bagel, or a little egg and cheese sammie.

Nap Dress 2.0- Hill House gave their iconic Nap Dress a little update, and it made my go-to summer dresses even better. The smocking is longer, it has *pockets* now, and I think they made the dresses a little bit longer. My favorite new feature is the longer smocking because I am so tall and have a long torso, so the extra length is so good! A note, I usually wear a small in HHH dresses, but an x-small in the updated nap dresses would have fit me better. ALSO, they just launched swim, and their summer collection drop is going to be gorgeous!

LOOKING AND LOVING:

Scalloped Gingham Dress- just wow, but its so expensive, so looking for a dupe.

Bow Swimsuit- the giant bow is everything.

Striped Cardigan- its giving #coastalgrandmother.

Charlotte Floral Maxi- I just love everything from Mae'd in NYC.

CURRENTLY READING:

In a New York Minute: just finished this one, and it was an adorable romcom that gave me all the NYC feels that I have been missing.

Looking for more book recs for the summer!

Coastal Grandmother Aesthetic

Who else has been loving the  Coastal Grandmother aesthetic trend on TikTok? I've been very engrossed in this trend that is actually not at all trendy and a nod to classic style, which I LOVE. Classic summer style is one of my favorite facets of classic style- linen dresses and pants, sun hats, walks on the beach and lots of rosΓ©. This is literally me. And I consider myself a grandmillennial, so coastal grandmother is not too far off. Some may call it coast-grand-millennial ;) ALSO, a couple of weeks ago the Today Show did a segment on the trend, and featured a clip from one of my coastal gran TikToks! These are things you need to create your own coastal grandmother aesthetic, the coastal grandmother starter kit if you will. You probably have most of these things in your closet if you are a fellow classic style lover, like myself. So lets all live our lives as if we lived in a Nancy Meyers movie, and have the best coastal grandmother girl summer. Coast Grandmother Essentials: - B

What I Packed for Rhode Island

I am SO excited to be back on the East Coast for a bit. Today, we are driving to Rhode Island to spend the long weekend and celebrate my cousin's 30th birthday (thirty, flirting and thriving, right?!). I have only been to Rhode Island on one other occasion, and that was a marching band trip where we marched in the oldest Fourth of July celebration in the country. Thinking back on that, it was a very surreal experience that I am grateful for, and I am even more excited to get to go back to that state and explore as an adult. As soon as I knew we would be going to Rhode Island, I thought about the outfits for the trip. It invoked a sense of the classic East Coast prep style that I already love so much, and so I took that as my packing inspiration! The Kiel James Patrick store/brand is based out of Newport, RI, so I will definitely be visiting and I had to leave room in my suitcase for some new KJP pieces. I haven't had to pack for travel in awhile, so I decided to take a new ap

Favorite Spots: St. Paul, MN

I have been thinking about Minnesota lately, and felt like reminiscing on some of my favorite spots in St. Paul, MN. Most people hear a city in Minnesota, and think Minneapolis. Although I love the treasures of Minneapolis, I went to college in St. Paul (Roll Toms πŸ˜ŠπŸ’œ), and lived there for 6 years, so it has a special place in my heart. First off, lets get familiar with this city. St. Paul is the state capitol of MN!! It is NOT Minneapolis as so many people think! It is the older of the Twin Cities, and I think has more charm. Its divided into neighborhoods like any other city, and some of the best spots, are little neighborhood gems. The Twin Cities are both equally "Foodie" places, and we love some craft breweries/distilleries, and good eats!! Grandview Theatre pictured above! Used to walk there during college just to get popcorn! Merriam Park University of St. Thomas - my alma matter! (I surprisingly do not have any good pics of UST..) Izzie's Ice Cre
