Nightstand Essentials

Dress | Shoes (use libby10 for 10% off!)

I was inspired to write this post by my friend Holley from byholley.com who wrote a similar post on her blog and I loved the idea! It is kind of fun to see what every keeps on their bedside table and how they style it.

This is the night stand I have. I found it at Target of all places, and was not expecting to find one I loved so much there. I like it because it has a pretty big table top, and is less likely to look cluttered even when I keep setting things on it, aha. I love love the detailing of the shelf it has because it a woven rattan/wicker!

Lets start with under the night stand and the middle shelf. Under the table, in a basket, I keep a couple of books I am going to read next, and right now I also have some random books about medical school interviews and a cocktail recipe book- random, I know. There's definitely more room in the basket for more!

On the shelf, I keep two prettier books that are the same in color: HRH and Becoming. Normally, my camera sits on top of the books, but I was using it to take these photos, so just imagine it there! I also wanted to be real, and not move the box of tissues I keep there. Tissues are really a nightstand essential for me, especially during winter.

On the table top of the nightstand, I really keep a myriad of things:

1. A stack of books that I am reading and/or about to start reading. I am currently sucked into Harry Potter again, but will read some of the other new to me books when I finish HP Book 5!
2. A coaster because I keep my water bottle, which I also not pictured, or a glass of water there at night, and this table easily gets water rings if you do not use a coaster -so heads up if you are considering it!
3. Random odds and ends: a book light, lip balm-this one is from Glossier and its SO good, and a silk scrunchie because I like to put my hair up when I get up in the morning.
5. A lamp- pretty self explanatory. (I linked a similar one.)
6. A ginger jar where I keep some vitamins and other meds. Under the ginger jar is a "question a day" journal that I used to be good about writing in, but now forget to most nights. I really need to get back into it!

I try not to clutter it too much, and will sometimes put there whatever needlepoint project I am working on, but I do have a separate basket for needlepoint! I may have some face moisturizer on it too, but not often, ahah. The hydrangea print will not be there for very much longer because I am going to hang it on the wall. Maybe above the nightstand, but I am not totally sure! This was a fun post to write, and am now very curious of everyone's nightstand essentials!

As always,

Coastal Grandmother Aesthetic

Who else has been loving the  Coastal Grandmother aesthetic trend on TikTok? I've been very engrossed in this trend that is actually not at all trendy and a nod to classic style, which I LOVE. Classic summer style is one of my favorite facets of classic style- linen dresses and pants, sun hats, walks on the beach and lots of rosé. This is literally me. And I consider myself a grandmillennial, so coastal grandmother is not too far off. Some may call it coast-grand-millennial ;) ALSO, a couple of weeks ago the Today Show did a segment on the trend, and featured a clip from one of my coastal gran TikToks! These are things you need to create your own coastal grandmother aesthetic, the coastal grandmother starter kit if you will. You probably have most of these things in your closet if you are a fellow classic style lover, like myself. So lets all live our lives as if we lived in a Nancy Meyers movie, and have the best coastal grandmother girl summer. Coast Grandmother Essentials: - B

What I Packed for Rhode Island

I am SO excited to be back on the East Coast for a bit. Today, we are driving to Rhode Island to spend the long weekend and celebrate my cousin's 30th birthday (thirty, flirting and thriving, right?!). I have only been to Rhode Island on one other occasion, and that was a marching band trip where we marched in the oldest Fourth of July celebration in the country. Thinking back on that, it was a very surreal experience that I am grateful for, and I am even more excited to get to go back to that state and explore as an adult. As soon as I knew we would be going to Rhode Island, I thought about the outfits for the trip. It invoked a sense of the classic East Coast prep style that I already love so much, and so I took that as my packing inspiration! The Kiel James Patrick store/brand is based out of Newport, RI, so I will definitely be visiting and I had to leave room in my suitcase for some new KJP pieces. I haven't had to pack for travel in awhile, so I decided to take a new ap

Favorite Spots: St. Paul, MN

I have been thinking about Minnesota lately, and felt like reminiscing on some of my favorite spots in St. Paul, MN. Most people hear a city in Minnesota, and think Minneapolis. Although I love the treasures of Minneapolis, I went to college in St. Paul (Roll Toms 😊💜), and lived there for 6 years, so it has a special place in my heart. First off, lets get familiar with this city. St. Paul is the state capitol of MN!! It is NOT Minneapolis as so many people think! It is the older of the Twin Cities, and I think has more charm. Its divided into neighborhoods like any other city, and some of the best spots, are little neighborhood gems. The Twin Cities are both equally "Foodie" places, and we love some craft breweries/distilleries, and good eats!! Grandview Theatre pictured above! Used to walk there during college just to get popcorn! Merriam Park University of St. Thomas - my alma matter! (I surprisingly do not have any good pics of UST..) Izzie's Ice Cre
