I Moved!

It has been a while since I wrote a life update, and felt like this was the perfect time for another one. It has also been a minute since I last uploaded a blog post, hah. So....I moved and am going to medical school! This past week has been equal parts exciting and nerve wrecking. There was a few long days of orientation, but we did get our white coats which made this transition feel real and official.

I have been thinking about how I wanted to decorate my new apartment for a couple of months, and have been saving things I liked so I could eventually share this with you! I really just leaned in to what I love, which immediately meant blue and white everything! I also incorporated my love of wicker/rattan/cane. I am surprised by the random, great finds I have found on Amazon! I have most of these in my new apartment, and a few are on my wishlist like the gingham rug, ice bucket and Hill House Home bedding.

I would say my inspiration for the decor is grandmillennial mixed with classic with some coastal/Serena and Lily like touches. I really wanted to make a comfortable space that felt like my own sanctuary to come back to when school was stressful and I had a lot to do. It is slowly coming together, and I will try and share what it looks like when I am mostly finished!

TABLE RUNNER | BAR CART | BEDDING

ICE BUCKET | BOW FRAME | BATH TOWELS

SCALLOPED SHADES | DISH TOWELS | GINGHAM RUG

COFFEE TABLE | BAMBOO FRAME

I also wanted to add that I will try to be sticking to a new upload schedule on here of one post per week. I *think* this will be doable with my course load and the study load of medical school. I love this space and community so much that I really want to make sure I keep it active. So, bear with me as I figure out this new chapter and how to achieve balance in it :)

As always,

Coastal Grandmother Aesthetic

Who else has been loving the  Coastal Grandmother aesthetic trend on TikTok? I've been very engrossed in this trend that is actually not at all trendy and a nod to classic style, which I LOVE. Classic summer style is one of my favorite facets of classic style- linen dresses and pants, sun hats, walks on the beach and lots of rosé. This is literally me. And I consider myself a grandmillennial, so coastal grandmother is not too far off. Some may call it coast-grand-millennial ;) ALSO, a couple of weeks ago the Today Show did a segment on the trend, and featured a clip from one of my coastal gran TikToks! These are things you need to create your own coastal grandmother aesthetic, the coastal grandmother starter kit if you will. You probably have most of these things in your closet if you are a fellow classic style lover, like myself. So lets all live our lives as if we lived in a Nancy Meyers movie, and have the best coastal grandmother girl summer. Coast Grandmother Essentials...

What I Packed for Rhode Island

I am SO excited to be back on the East Coast for a bit. Today, we are driving to Rhode Island to spend the long weekend and celebrate my cousin's 30th birthday (thirty, flirting and thriving, right?!). I have only been to Rhode Island on one other occasion, and that was a marching band trip where we marched in the oldest Fourth of July celebration in the country. Thinking back on that, it was a very surreal experience that I am grateful for, and I am even more excited to get to go back to that state and explore as an adult. As soon as I knew we would be going to Rhode Island, I thought about the outfits for the trip. It invoked a sense of the classic East Coast prep style that I already love so much, and so I took that as my packing inspiration! The Kiel James Patrick store/brand is based out of Newport, RI, so I will definitely be visiting and I had to leave room in my suitcase for some new KJP pieces. I haven't had to pack for travel in awhile, so I decided to take a new ap...

A Thanksgiving Look

Turtleneck  |   Skirt  |   Tights  |   Boots Thanksgiving is only one week away! I am excited to go home, and spend time with my family and friends. This is a holiday that is HARD to dress for. On one hand, you want to wear joggers and a big sweater because of all of the yummy food and treats. On the other hand, you want to dress up, or slightly dress up while still feeling comfy. Hence, the big dressing dilemma: how to create the right look for your kind of holiday? I like to dress it up a little , without wearing a cocktail outfit or gown, haha. I created this look for a dressy, casual look. It is an easy outfit to put together, and I bet you have some similar pieces in your closet! A turtleneck, plaid skirt and tights is such a classic fall look that is also great for this holiday. It is kind of an easy dressing equation too because it is so easy to mix and match what you have in your closet, or buy one new piece that you know will go with an...
