NORDSTROM SALE PICKS

I did not mean for a 6+ month blog hiatus to happen, but school and being on rotations really ate up most of my attention this winter and spring! But, I am back and now a fourth year medical student with (I hope), a little more flexibility in her schedule this year!

It is that time of year again, so thought I would share my picks for this year's Nordstrom Sale. I know so many people will be putting out content of their sale picks and it can get overwhelming so here are my two cents: you do not need anything, I always take this time of year to grab essentials that I use almost every day because they do not go on sale often. A couple of things I like to pick up during the sale are my favorite bra, sunscreen and maybe a pair of sneakers. This year my favorite pair of sneakers are actually part of the sale so I hope I can snag these!

I think other pieces that are worth shopping the sale for are things like jackets that rarely go on sale like Barbour-I have one and it is a closet essential, or cashmere- a good cashmere sweater will last you a long time. Of course it is fun to see what is included in the sale and have some fun picks like the perfume sampler that includes Baccarat Rouge 540 and a few clothing pieces- I picked some that are not too trendy and think they would be good closet investments!

Coastal Grandmother Aesthetic

Who else has been loving the Coastal Grandmother aesthetic trend on TikTok? I've been very engrossed in this trend that is actually not at all trendy and a nod to classic style, which I LOVE. Classic summer style is one of my favorite facets of classic style- linen dresses and pants, sun hats, walks on the beach and lots of rosé. This is literally me. And I consider myself a grandmillennial, so coastal grandmother is not too far off. Some may call it coast-grand-millennial ;) ALSO, a couple of weeks ago the Today Show did a segment on the trend, and featured a clip from one of my coastal gran TikToks! These are things you need to create your own coastal grandmother aesthetic, the coastal grandmother starter kit if you will. You probably have most of these things in your closet if you are a fellow classic style lover, like myself. What I Packed for Rhode Island

I am SO excited to be back on the East Coast for a bit. Today, we are driving to Rhode Island to spend the long weekend and celebrate my cousin's 30th birthday (thirty, flirting and thriving, right?!). I have only been to Rhode Island on one other occasion, and that was a marching band trip where we marched in the oldest Fourth of July celebration in the country. Thinking back on that, it was a very surreal experience that I am grateful for, and I am even more excited to get to go back to that state and explore as an adult. As soon as I knew we would be going to Rhode Island, I thought about the outfits for the trip. It invoked a sense of the classic East Coast prep style that I already love so much, and so I took that as my packing inspiration! So today, I got the happiest email from Kiel James Patrick , featuring some super cute new pieces, and that they have a 4th of July sale!! The sale is 20% off any thing with the code America . I would definitely take advantage of this! Here are my favorite new things from KJP. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!! Striped shirt dress // I had all the feels when I saw this dress. First, it is striped AND a shirt dress! Second, it is actually named "Bristol Parade." That is the oldest 4th of July Parade in the country, and I had the privilege of marching in it during my high school marching band trip to New England in 2010 (omg that was 9 years ago?!?). That day it was about 110 degrees, and we wore all black uniforms....if you are familiar with the parade, it is a LONG LONG LONG route, and I somehow, barely survived.
