What I'm Loving no. 34: January Favorites

I feel like I am back in my blogging grove and I love this feeling! I have tried to stay on top of it during medical school, but it has been so hard to do so (but have been on my socials!). I think the state of social media being in big flux the last couple of months has brought me back to my website as it is something that will always be here and I can always reference it!  January has felt so long but so quick and I'm shocked we are at the end of it. This month, I had my last away rotation of fourth year of medical school then spent the rest of the month home in Minnesota where it has been frigid. My parents bought a new house that they have been renovating, so I have been picking out the design for my room and can't wait to put it all together, but may need some insight from you guys!  January Favorites: 1. Wicked Stanley: I wanted this since it came out last fall. It sold out so fast, and I kept checking the Target website to see if they received any more in stock....

What I'm Loving: 2024 Favorites

I say it is never too late to share my favorites from last year, it is still January! I am realizing that I did not share my favorites from 2023, so I am making sure to get back on track and share them this year. I love to think back about what did I wear the most, reach for the most, hobbies, trends, books I read, anything. Making these are also like a fun little diary for me to look back at to see how or if my interests have changed.  FASHION: -J. Crew Kate Pants: I say this time and time again, but I am really not a big pants girlie. However, I have been reaching for them more often for going to clinic or this hospital, especially if it is a busy day! These pants from J. Crew have been my favorite find. They are SO comfy, perfectly high waisted and so versatile to dress. They often go on sale, too :) -Anjuli Nap Dress: Don't worry, I still love the classic Ellie, but this newish style from HHH is so good! I added a few of them to my closet last year. I love that they a...

Capsule Winter Work Wear

Hello! I know it has been so long since my last published post, but back today with another work wear capsule. (I really want to get back to more regular posts!) I was inspired to put this together as I have somewhat of a winter uniform and reach for great basics most days and add things to pull together a cute and warm look for the office (well clinic or hospital for me 😊). I have another great work capsule wardrobe post from last late summer/fall so if it is not as cold where you live I would definitely check out that one: what to wear to work . A lot of those pieces I shared in that post would also transition nicely to colder months with adding some layers, sweaters, and tights! I like to think of easy basics to keep in my closet so it is easy to pull out simple pieces that can all mix and match. I also have a handful of more "fun" pieces to add to my basics such as striped T's and turtlenecks, tweed lady jackets, scarves, etc. I try to dress in layers or pick piece...

NORDSTROM SALE PICKS

I did not mean for a 6+ month blog hiatus to happen, but school and being on rotations really ate up most of my attention this winter and spring! But, I am back and now a fourth year medical student with (I hope), a little more flexibility in her schedule this year! It is that time of year again, so thought I would share my picks for this year's Nordstrom Sale. I know so many people will be putting out content of their sale picks and it can get overwhelming so here are my two cents: you do not need anything, I always take this time of year to grab essentials that I use almost every day because they do not go on sale often. A couple of things I like to pick up during the sale are my favorite bra, sunscreen and maybe a pair of sneakers. This year my favorite pair of sneakers are actually part of the sale so I hope I can snag these!  I think other pieces that are worth shopping the sale for are things like jackets that rarely go on sale like Barbour-I have one and it is a close...

What to get at the Sephora Sale

The Sephora Sale starts today! I always love this sale because I use it to stock up on my favorite products and treat myself to some new goodies to try. It is also great to do a bit of holiday shopping early! Below, I have all of my picks for the sale but just want to highlight a handful of my favorites that have been in my routine for a while now: - Paula's Choice Toner: I tried a lot of toners before this one and have repurchased this one so many times now. I think it has made a huge difference in my skin- less breakouts/texture and clearer, smaller pores. I use it as part of my night time routine and can't recommend it enough! - Dyson AirWrap : I think this is 100% worth it. It is the only hair tool I use now. I love how it makes your hair look like you got a professional blowout every time! I think I use it almost every day so the cost per use has basically paid for itself now. The Sephora Sale is one of the best times to try it! - Moroccan Oil Dry Shampoo : This is my...

The Lady Jacket Edit

I love when more classic pieces become "trendy" because that means endless options to add to your forever closet. The obsession with the Lady Jacket silhouette has been one of my favorites this year. This fall, they are everywhere in the best way possible. I have a handful of these style of jackets/sweaters and they are on heavy rotation in my closet. I reach for them often and they have been the perfect addition to my clinic wardrobe. These jackets look so effortless and polished and can definitely be styled casual to professional. I searched the internet to find some of my favorite styles of these jackets and tried to find some at all price points- I even found one on Amazon! Enjoy :) some outfit inspo LEFT COLUMN:   1  |   2  |   3  |   4  |   5 MIDDLE COLUMN:   1  |   2  |   3  |   4 RIGHT COLUMN:   1  |   2  |   3  |   4  |   5 As always #dontforge...

What I'm Loving no. 33: Summer Favorites

I cannot believe we are over half way through August. I am always of the endless summer mindset, this season never feels long enough. With studying for boards and starting clinical rotations this summer, it has made this time go by even more quickly. I realize it had been awhile since I have done a round up of my favorites and figured summer favorites would be a fun one to start with again. Enjoy, this is a long one, and happy almost Virgo season :) WHAT I'M LOVING: Kate Pants - I would much rather be in a dress than in pants, but I bought a couple of pairs of these pants to have some more options for clinical rotations. The cut is so flattering and the material has some stretch and makes them pretty comfy. I highly recommend if you are looking for a great pair of work pants or nicer pants/trousers. I think the fit is true to size/slightly big so if you order them maybe order your normal size and one size down to compare. Lady Jacket - These sweater jackets have been something I ...

What to Wear to Work

I recently started my third year of medical school and that means we are finally in clinical rotations. I am on my family medicine rotation, which means I get to wear business casual and cute outfits instead of scrubs. I am probably the only medical student excited about getting to dress up and not having to wear scrubs every day. I did some shopping before I started rotations to add some more pieces to my wardrobe and have been sharing my looks every day I am in clinic.  I put together this little capsule of work wardrobe inspiration with great basics to mix and match and pieces I have been loving for my clinic wardrobe. I love having basic pieces to put together outfits and style different ways. I think they are so versatile and pieces you keep in your closet forever- like a white button up will never go out of style! It is fun to add your own personality to basics too- the other day I wore the navy pants and striped sweater t-shirt and tied a sweater around my shoulders b...

Nordstrom Sale

Hello! It has been months since my last post here. That was not my intention but school, board exams and way too much studying got in the way. But hopefully we are back with our weekly posts in time for the start of the Nordstrom Sale! I sifted through most of the sale preview this year. The best things I found were in beauty like the Supergoop sets, Dyson Airwrap and other favorite products of mine that I want to stock up on. This is usually how I shop the NSale- I find things I use and wear on a daily basis and grab extras during the sale. This year I see my favorite everyday bra, favorite sunscreen, body wash, face cleanser, skin care, scrunchies and jeans. I need new sneakers so those are calling my name and there's always a few for fun things like the sunhat or fun heeled boots.  I do not have a Nordstrom card so I shop the sale when it goes live to the public and things that sell out before then are *usually* restocked by then. I am curious to know what you guys are ey...

You guys know that I absolutely love my espadrilles and ALWAYS wear them, but I think you are right and I need to mix it up a bit. ADD TO CART

Happy March and welcome back to the blog! It has been awhile since the last post- school and getting covid again got in the way. But, I am on break this week so I am dusting off some drafts and writing some new posts! I have been loving these new arrivals from J. Crew. This gold button/Lady Jacket era style that has been in for this winter/spring season is one of my favorites. It is such a classic look that will always be in style and a great investment piece for your wardrobe. I am really eyeing the striped one but also the pink gingham one is adorable and I normally do not gravitate towards pink! I love all these great basics too- button-ups, sweaters and a great cut of white jeans. I am so excited for warmer weather ahead and fun spring outfits! THE PAJAMA EDIT

I am not big into new year resolutions or goals, but I do love a mood board for some fresh inspiration. One thing I have on my mood board this year are the Sleeper feather pajamas. Yes, this feels random but I am loving the cozy chic vibe of it all. Last year, it was super popular to "romanticize your life" and to continue with that in the new year, insert the iconic feather pajamas. Matching pajama sets, in general, just make my every day experiences feel more elevated and even fun so I bring you the 2023 Pajama Edit. I think my love for pajamas and matching pajamas is not a secret. I think every pajama I own is a set. Also, I am sharing pajamas while everyone else is sharing work out sets, which I think is a way better start  to a new year :) THE PAJAMA EDIT:  Blue Short Set  |   Gingham Feather PJs  |   Robe  |   Navy Set  |   Headband Gingham Top + Bottoms  |  Blue Striped Pant Set  |  Blue Trellis Top...

What I'm Loving: 2022 Favorites

Hello and happy one week into the new year. Every year I like to think through what my favorite things of the year were- what did I wear the most, reach for the most, hobbies I loved, books I read. So enjoy my favorites from 2022 :) FASHION: The Nap Dress : She is an icon and closet staple at this point. I love how versatile the nap dress is and how easily I can style it so many ways. It is also a piece that can be worn all year round with the right accessories like tights and sweaters in the winter! They now make them with pockets which as been incredible. Ily HHH 💙 Natalie Flats : These are my most worn pair of Sarah Flint's. Whenever someone asks me what pair of SF's to start with I always recommend these flats. They have that Sarah Flint comfort and are such a classic style and silhouette that you will wear them forever. I say they run true to size. I have a code for $50 off your first pair of shoes from SF: SARAHFLINT-BALIBBYM.  Clogs:  I think I will be a clog ...

What I Packed for the Holidays in NYC

I am headed into the city for a few festive days to kick off the holidays! New York during the holidays is one of my favorite times of year. For this trip, I tried to think about what would be chic, cozy and warm and would transition well from day to night. I will wear my over the knee boots during the day and can easily switch them out for my black platforms for our shows and dinners. I also wanted to feel a little festive in my outfits so we have some pops of plaid- like the tartan nap dress and headband.  NYC HOLIDAY TRIP PACKING LIST:  Black Jacket  |   Headband  |   Sherpa Jacket  |  Ear Muffs  |   Plaid Pants Feather Shirt  |   Black Dress  |   Black Turtleneck Mittens  |   Black Platforms  |   Black Boots  | Plaid Nap Dress Happy holidays, and #dontforgetyourpearls  SHOP THE POST: JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Small Business Gift Guide

This gift guide is always one of my favorites to put together every year. I love shopping and supporting small businesses, and the holidays are the perfect time of year to support your favorite small brands! Some of my favorite small businesses have grown so much over the years that they might not be small but smallish now! (I have still included them here:) ) I also seem to forget a few brands when I first write this post, so I will keep adding as I think of more. For this post, it is less of a strict guide, and more a list of my favorite small brands with a few favorites from each one. A lot of these businesses are having sales this week, so now is the time to shop! Hope this is a favorite for you too! - Dudley Stephens - Currently 40% off their site!! If you're new around here, I basically live in these turtleneck fleeces year round.  - Breck and Grier - My favorite straw tote is from this sweet brand. You can get them monogrammed! - Maxwell and Geraldine - I have been e...
